Description
Following the successful results from past years, the EU-Japan Centre, Enterprise Europe Network representative for Japan, is organising a new edition of its cluster and SMEs match-making mission to Japan in the Biotechnology sector.
The mission is organised on the fringe of “BioJapan” Expo (https://jcd-expo.jp/en) held in October in Yokohama, Japan. During this 3-day fair, selected participants will be able to exhibit in a joint booth under the EU-Japan Centre umbrella. In order to maximize partnering opportuni¬ties, the day before the trade fair, a special B2B session will also be organized in Osaka to meet local main players of Japan biotech sector.
The mission will give EU SMEs the opportunity to enter the Japanese market and establish technology or business partnerships and therefore increase their innovation capacity and make them more competitive on the global scale.
Mission date: 11-13 October 2023
Application deadline: 7 June 2023

OBJECTIVES
Through this mission participants will have the opportunity to:
- display their technology at one of Japan’s leading trade shows
- meet potential business partners
- create new business opportunities
- develop partnerships and business cooperation on global
- attend match-making events
- increase their innovation capacity and become more competitive on a global scale (as an SME)
- prepare the ground for practical cluster cooperation across borders and make a more strategic use of transnational cluster cooperation on markets outside Europe in areas of strategic interest (as a cluster)
COSTS & GRANT
- The EU-Japan Centre covers all costs directly related to the Biotech mission which includes: the trade fair exhibiting costs, partnering activities, and transfer costs from Osaka to Yokohama.
- The participants' companies must cover travel costs to/from Japan, accommodation, and any other living costs.
The EU-Japan Centre will provide a 600€ grant to each selected participant to offset some of above costs.
Please note: the number of allowed participants is limited, therefore companies interested to the mission will have to fill in an application form and a selection process will take place to select the participating companies.
