On February 24 and 25, 2025, North Rhine-Westphalia will welcome a high-ranking delegation from Silesia to strengthen interregional exchange in the mining and energy sectors. Representatives from politics, business, and research – including the Deputy Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship, leading executives from Polish mining companies, and trade union representatives – will meet with partners from NRW to discuss the challenges and opportunities of structural transformation.The company mission is supported and accompanied by the Enterprise Europe Network from Silesia and NRW.
The focus of the company mission will be on topics such as sustainable post-mining utilization, the use of geothermal energy and methane from former mines, as well as economic development perspectives for both regions. Key stops include the Neue Zeche Westerholt in Gelsenkirchen and the Research Center for Post-Mining in Bochum.
