Description
EU-US Dialogue on Circularity of Cities will take place on May 22, 2024, in Swissnex, Boston.
EU Delegation to the USA, under the EU Policy Dialogue program, is organizing this hybrid workshop on EU-US Dialogue on Circularity for Cities for 2 hours, starting with the US city of Boston.
The EU delegation to Boston will include EU Trade-related officials from the EU Delegation to the US – Jennifer Riccardi and Giles Landsberg, Minister Counselor, Embassy of Belgium in the US, along with 10-15 EU Member State Trade Officials.
Objective of the workshop
- To launch a EU-US dialogue on Circularity for Cities.
- To bring together stakeholders in Boston from the public and private sector focussed on circularity technologies, innovation, projects, business and investment with EU stakeholders and cities
- Explore how EU and US cities can collaborate on the topic of circularity/circular economy
- Best practise exchange between EU-US cities
- Sharing of technologies and technology needs between EU and US cities
- Promoting cities as a living lab to pilot and scale circular technologies and solutions
- Identifying financing and investment opportunities
EU Cities can join us for this workshop and also invite companies to showcase their solutions and needs for partnership with Boston companies, investors, and partners.
During the presentation of the ecosystem, panel discussion and interactive session, the idea will be to share about the concrete strengths and gaps that can be addressed through EU – US collaboration, business and investment. This is with the aim that business/solution providers from both sides can share the impact of their work in their city of origin and offer their solution to Boston city on one hand and also companies can share their needs for partnership in the area of circularity for cities. The objective is that via this hybrid workshop, we can find at least 1-2 concrete projects/partnerships between a EU-US city and/or their companies.
