Enterprise Europe Network

Three innovators who are transforming the Blue Economy

Meet the Blue Economy's movers and shakers – three diverse businesses with three common factors: originating in the Mediterranean, highly innovative and supported by the Enterprise Europe Network. They will be among the 20 companies selected to pitch to investors at the Blue Invest event in Malta on 24 January. We wish them all the best of luck!

W-SENSE (IT): Sustainable Food Sources

CEO Chiara Petrioli's disruptive technology in underwater monitoring and control systems has helped position her as a pioneer in the Internet of Underwater Things. At Blue Invest she will be pitching her latest project to digitalise salmon aquaculture. Helping her on her journey have been her local Enterprise Europe Network partners in Rome – based in Unioncamere Lazio – who have helped her access crucial funding and find the right international business partners along her journey.

FLASC (MT): Sustainable Off-Shore Energy Storage

Maltese co-founder Daniel Buhagiar will be pitching his large-scale energy storage solutions for offshore renewables on home soil. FLASC was ranked 2nd most investible out of 150 energy start-ups across 26 EU countries. Cheering him on will be the Enterprise Europe Network in Malta – based in the Malta Council for Science and Technology – who have helped FLASC to successfully patent their technology.

Nauticspot (FR): Smart Maritime Tourism

Nauticspot makes harbour management more secure and efficient for both marinas and sailors. CEO Jérémy Ladoux – an entrepreneur specialised in tourism – has already successfully introduced Nauticspot's smart technology into several French marinas. With the support and advice of the Enterprise Europe Network – based in CCI Occitanie in Pérols – he’s now looking to expand his innovative solution internationally.
