General information
- Short Summary
- The Romanian company is looking for construction and development partners that can offer the technology and/or financial input needed for using textile waste for the delivery of full value plastic bricks insulated with textile waste.
- Full Description
-
The Romanian company produces under its own brand, an entire range of men's items that are distributed throughout the country. All products, from ties to suits, are manufactured in Romania. The fabrics used are chosen with great responsibility towards consumers, they have special finishes that offer many customer advantages, such as: anti-wrinkle treatments, anti-stain treatments, treatments that do not allow water to penetrate from the outside, but allow the body to ventilate.
The company has more than 50 years of activity and extensive international export cooperation in countries such as: France, Germany, Italy, Canada, USA, Sweden, Holland, England. As the accumulated textile waste reaches 70 tons of waste textile material per year, the company wants to use a technology that enables the reutilisation of this waste. Within a 1 km radius they could also use the amount of waste from two ready-made clothing factories, which would probably mean 3 times this amount, i.e. 200 tons/year. A possible solution in this direction is the development of full value building bricks insulated with textile waste similar to Lego blocks. The bricks would be packed in an interlocking plastic frame, pressed and glued with a lining of textile material. Lego cube-shaped bricks could be used to insulate common walls and small cottages. 10 cm wide, 20 cm high and 50 cm long, or 20 cm wide, 20 cm high and 40,60 cm long plastic builders that could be inserted into the framework of lightweight houses cube, lined with waste textile material. Cable ducts are recessed on the outer walls of the building blocks, providing the possibility of possible retrofitting. The construction elements can be used even for children, in kindergartens and schools to build full-fledged small houses. In order to minimise the utilisation of textile waste in burning plant, the company is looking for partners that can offer the appropriate technology and also partners that can contribute financially to the development of this new product - Advantages and Innovations
- The development of plastic bricks insulated with textile waste would have many advantages, because there is a lot of residual textile material accumulated from the clothing industry, which is currently incinerated, but this could be used as the best insulating material, making easy-to-use bricks in a fireproof plastic frame, which would also be suitable for building small forest houses. Textile waste from 3 ready-to-wear factories in the area could be recycled. There is also a call for tenders for waste recycling, where the total value of the project could be tendered. The National Recovery And Resilience Plan represents the funding source through which funds can be accessed for this project. The eligible project value is from 500,000 euros to 8.4 million euros / project and the financing intensity is 75% state fund, 25% own contribution.
- Technical Specification or Expertise Sought

Partner Sought
- Expected Role of a Partner
- Developers, investors, resellers: co-financiers, accredited development laboratories, university centers, where the rigidity, strength, load-bearing capacity, heat and sound insulation of the bricks will be tested, the required amount of plastic and textiles will be measured, we are also interested in machine and production line development companies who will design and build them. The molding process of the plastic brick frame and the pressing of the waste textile material into shape is also of interest.
