General information

Short Summary
The centre is specialised in mineral processing technology. The centre keeps abreast of developments through intensive technology monitoring, providing solutions to industry by designing and advising on the best technology for the specific recovery of critical and strategic raw materials, and their use and exploitation.

The centre is looking for international companies interested in collaboration under research and development cooperation agreement.
Full Description
The international technological center is a Spanish non-profit private research foundation and competence center, founded by some of the main industries of the Castilla y León (CyL) region with the support of the regional government. The centre is a key player in the European strategy for the efficient management of industrial resources, energy efficiency, eco-innovation and substitution of critical raw materials with the aim of promoting the development of advanced materials for the regional network of industries and the valorization of the regional richness in raw materials, in line with its Smart and Intelligent Specialization Strategy (RIS3).

One of the key issues faced in the mining sector is the harnessing, refining and seeking greater effectiveness in the extraction of critical and strategic raw materials. These resources are fundamental to various industries, such as electronics, automotive and energy, among others.
Through the technological solutions the centre seeks to promote sustainable mining and contribute to the circular economy. The centre works to develop processes that enable more efficient use of natural resources and reduce the environmental impact associated with the extraction and production of raw materials, and helps to optimise industrial production and ensure a more secure and sustainable supply of critical raw materials to the market.

In short, the centre promotes the valorisation of products derived from these raw materials, creating synergies with other industries and encouraging the reuse and recycling of materials. In this way, the centre drives the circular economy and generate opportunities for the creation of new products and markets.

The centre is looking for international SMEs or large companies interested in applying innovative technologies and processing methods to promote the valorisation of products derived from raw materials under a research and development cooperation agreement.
Advantages and Innovations
The objective of this technology is to carry out research activities and technological services to companies (particularly SMEs) in the area of mining and materials processing in order to contribute to the progress of the business, academic, governmental and social sectors, in the mining sector and associated services. For the implementation of technological solutions satisfactory for both the companies concerned and the society involved, the centre will be responsible for putting in place an effective and respectful methodology.
