A Dutch SME established in 2022 to contribute to a more circular economy in the construction industry. Based on raw materials from waste paper streams they produce acoustic panels. The use of waste paper makes the product bio-based and 100% circular. At the end of the service live the acoustic panels can be recycled.
The technical performance of the acoustic panels is above average but the product is also a good thermal isolator and can also absorb 30% of its own weight in moisture from the room. This makes the product contributing to more comfort regarding acoustic isolation, thermal isolation and moisture control. This is beneficiary for the health of employees and residents.
The acoustic panels can be made in different thicknesses varying from 22 to 80 mm with a standard size of 80x120cm. This standard size can be customized to the clients specifications to reduce not only waste streams but also to reduce application labor at the customers. The product is easy to work with and can be applied in interior construction (s.a. in drywalls, ceilings and floors), decoration (s.a. acoustic screens, photo panels) or even in (office) furniture (concentration cubicles, office cabinets).
After Belgium the company is now looking for an agent or distributor in Germany. The company is located near the Germany border of NRW.
The possible partner has a background or knowledge of acoustics and circular thinking and can also help in getting the right certifications for the German market.
The company has a network of possible clients or sees other opportunities.
It is also possible to cooperate under a financial agreement. - Advantages and Innovations

With focus on reducing waste and avoiding primary, non-renewable feedstocks the company produces high end acoustical panels for the building and furniture industry.
With set targets on Circular economy by EU in 2030 and 2050 and the growing awareness and regulations regarding noise reduction (insulation and sound reverberation) the product complies with all these goals.
The material is proven to be 100% circular, which the company states by a financial refund per kilogram for the material after use and all residual materials after application (s.a. cutting waste).
Therefore the material is included in the databases of Baubook.at and Biobasedinkopen.nl and will be included in Q1 of 2024 in the Nationale Milieu database (the Dutch National Environmental Materials Database) based on the LCA that is expected soon to be finalized.
With the sound absorption factor (alpha-w) of 1,0 at 50mm thickness and especially the high absorption at low frequencies the material has the ability to reduce noise reverberation times more effective and with less active product area than traditional and other biobased materials.
The relatively high specific weight of 80-90 kg/m3 provides better sound insulating qualities than traditional and other biobased insulating materials. Again, also in the lower frequencies.
The material behavior to fire has been classified E according to EN 13501-1:2018 - Stage of Development

Company seeks a partner with similar set of goals and ambitions regarding circular economy and reducing waste. With a set base of customers in the indoor climate- and construction market with focus on sound and acoustics. Also beneficial are leads and network in industries such as the production of building systems such as drywall- ceiling- and flooring systems and (office) furniture and specific acoustic products such as sound absorbing panels and baffles, concentration cubicles, photo panels, et cetera.
Role of the partner:
The partner the company seeks will be responsible for commercially developing the German market by introduction and sales of the material including the required proofing (certifications, quality tests, etc.).
The partner will take the lead in this and will be actively supported if required and if possible by the company.
