Developments for sectors such as defense and aeronautics sectors face several challenges when incorporating power electronics and batteries. They must be ready to operate in harsh environments, meet weight and size constraints, be safe and reliable and comply with the regulatory standards.
With the objective of facing these challenges, the Spanish company has been focused, since its foundation in 2011, on power electronics and tailored battery systems for hybrid/electric propulsion, as well as electrical generation and distribution systems.
The company expertise covers the entire value chain in power electronics and batteries:
-Tailored batteries: For different applications based on lithium cells with health monitoring, smart cell balancing and battery life and optimization functions.
-AC/DC – DC/C converters
-Electric motor/generator controller: tailored Bi-directional BLDC (Brushless DC Electric Motor) controllers in a range of power from 30kW up to 1MW Power. The controllers manage the operation of the electric motor and generator operation to allow a dual operation of the electric machine.
These technologies have been seamlessly integrated into an extensive array of aircraft designs, including fixed-wing aircraft, zeppelins, solar powered airplanes, vertical take-off and landing vehicles, airboats and other naval and terrestrial transportation.
