Mir Arge generates its income from the sale of intellectual property rights for the technologies it has developed and is a research and development company that adopts interdisciplinary and project-based working principles. Its activities are carried out at the Mir Innovation and Technology Center (MITEC). MITEC was established in 2015 with an investment of 15 million Euros and spans an area of 4200 m2. At MITEC, project-based R&D activities are conducted in areas such as high-performance composite material and product technologies, polymer material technologies, thermoplastic and composite pipe technologies, renewable energy technologies, chemical analysis technologies, and agricultural technologies. MITEC houses 14 R&D laboratories and workshops, each equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. A presentation of MITEC, including the devices, equipment, and other infrastructures within these laboratories, can be provided. Additionally, the facility has a rich library covering an area of 70 m2, equipped with over 300 books. There are also more than 1,000 electronic books and access to various research databases.
As of January 2016, a Project Management Office was established to manage and administer projects from the pool, assess project performance, and ensure the on-site and optimal use of resources. Project Management is carried out within the discipline of "Project Management Methodology Under the Control of the Project Management Office," in accordance with international project standards defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI). In this framework, a series of documents covering the Start, Planning, Execution, and Closure stages of the project has been developed and incorporated into the ISO9001:2015 system. Tools such as QDMS, Ms-Project, SAP, and Teamcenter are used during the operation of the system.
Mir Arge actively utilizes University-Industry cooperation. At least one academician is involved in every project, and collaborations are currently ongoing with academicians from YTÜ, İTÜ, İÜ, Marmara, OMÜ, and FSMVÜ. As part of TÜBİTAK's 2244 Industrial PhD Program launched in 2018, Mir Arge, in collaboration with YTÜ and İTÜ, has supported a total of 26 fellows in 2 projects. The thesis topics of 20 of these fellows are related to advanced composite materials. In collaboration with Bilkent-UNAM, an application has been made for a TÜBİTAK-1004 project regarding the development of thermoplastic composite parts for the aviation sector. A general-purpose cooperation agreement has been signed with ALUTEAM, which operates in the field of developing 3D printers for thermoplastic and metal materials, and a cooperation and service agreement has been signed with FSMVÜ-BETAM regarding the development of electronic systems and applications. A technology development and licensing agreement has been made with FARFORM for R&D and technology development in the automotive sector. Since 2014, Mir Arge has been a project partner in the KOZA Project with TAİ.
Mir Bina Üretim A.Ş. is an independent spin-off company established on 27.05.2015 to commercialize the energy-related R&D projects developed by Mir Research and Development A.Ş. Mir Bina Üretim A.Ş. operates in the fields of energy technologies and the construction industry. Its primary focus is to provide environmentally friendly and cost-effective heating and cooling technology solutions, including complete wall system solutions, for buildings that consume 33% of the total energy used in Turkey. These solutions not only offer aesthetic appearance, thermal and sound insulation, but also provide earthquake safety for buildings. - Advantages and Innovations
-
MITEC is one of Turkey's leading research and development centers, combining innovative R&D efforts with technology development and commercialization processes. Our core areas of focus include high-performance composite material technologies, polymeric and thermoplastic materials, renewable energy solutions, chemical analysis technologies, and agricultural technologies.
The 14 advanced technology R&D laboratories and workshops located within MITEC enhance the innovation potential of our projects and provide high added value to the industry. Established with an investment of 15 million Euros, our center applies project management methodologies in line with international standards. With processes integrated into the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system, we continuously improve the quality of our products and services.
Our expectation from collaboration is to build strong, long-term partnerships with partners who can help bring our sectoral knowledge and technical infrastructure to a broader market and create mutual value. MITEC is open to various collaboration models, such as technological knowledge sharing, product development, manufacturing, and licensing, and has a strong collaboration network in the energy, construction, and agriculture sectors.
Furthermore, we aim to increase scientific contributions to the sector through initiatives like TÜBİTAK’s Industrial PhD Program and university-industry collaboration projects. In joint ventures, we are pleased to share our knowledge transfer and innovation-driven approaches with our business partners. - Stage of Development
