Sustainable strategic growth and diversification is the mission of Luxembourg-based business development company APC International S.à.r.l. With Enterprise Europe Network support, APC is bridging the gap between technology providers and organisations in search of cutting-edge solutions in different sectors.

Pioneering strategic pathways

APC stands as a cornerstone for technology companies aiming to break into challenging national markets or sectors with formidable entry barriers. Specialising in strategic business enablement, APC excels in business development and network management.

Since its inception in 2004, APC has maintained a laser-sharp focus: to forge robust opportunities for companies eager to establish enduring, significant relationships within the APC customer network.

Initially, APC concentrated on unlocking markets for suppliers of original equipment manufacturers, particularly those keen on expanding their influence in the automotive sector. Over time, APC has broadened its scope, significantly amplifying its presence in the aviation, defence and aerospace sectors.

By harnessing its profound industry insight and fostering trusted connections with influential decision-makers, APC has been instrumental in facilitating impactful engagements for suppliers, enabling them to present their innovations to pivotal stakeholders. This visionary approach continues to flourish on an even larger scale, driven by strategic collaboration with its expansive network.

The path to sustained growth

The company already had a substantial international presence in regions like Asia and the United States when it first approached Network partner Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce in 2018. But Network backing has enabled it to expand even further. "The Network embodies the very principles that drive our business forward," explained Nadia Disselhoff, Head of global business development at APC. "It aligns with our vision of growth by fostering collaborations with organisations and partners whose potential complements and strengthens our own capabilities."

This collaboration has helped APC identify and partner with entities that bring innovative ideas, expertise or synergies, building relationships that not only benefit the company in the present, but also enhance its resilience and competitive edge over the long term.

Network project adviser Laura Ambrogio said: "With our support, APC could make the most of the Network’s partnering activities to find potential matches at the international level, including sectoral partner search via the tools of the Network. APC also took part in brokerage events organised or promoted by the Network which are fantastic opportunities to boost contact making."

Through over 30 such events held across Europe and in Canada, as well as the partnering profiles, the company has been able to forge partnerships with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers. It is helping them to break into the Western European market, and above all German-speaking countries. "APC also received individual assistance on various subjects relating to the company’s development," Ambrogio added.

Expanding the focus

The company has impressively scaled its operations, growing from 20 to 50 employees, and has successfully penetrated further international markets. Beyond its foundational business, it now empowers companies by developing cutting-edge automation and electronic testing technologies, thus fostering deeper connections with their clientele. APC has also delivered successful avionics to the defence sector.

"Our vision for the future is rooted in strategic growth and diversification," stated Disselhoff. "As we navigate evolving geopolitical landscapes and dynamic market shifts, we are ambitiously broadening our focus beyond the automotive sector. Our goal is to establish a formidable presence in the aerospace and cybersecurity industries, positioning ourselves as a pivotal force, and spearheading innovation and value in these vital domains."
