General information
- Short Summary
- A Spanish engineering SME specialized in providing services and products for the wind energy industry and singular civil structures has developed a hybrid wind tower with concrete prefabricated self-supporting elements and its assembly method. They are looking for partners so as to grow internationally under a commercial with technical assistance or research cooperation agreement.
- Full Description
-
Founded in 2005, the Spanish engineering company offers various technical services in the wind energy sector and in the civil singular infrastructure sector. Since then, the company has developed further innovations in the field of wind energy, as a Technological Partner developing and certifying patents from other companies, and “inhouse” developing their own products and solutions.
In addition to added value solutions and services (simulation (CFD, dynamic, structural non linear), structural development (concrete, prestressed concrete, steel, composite, hybrid)) the company also develops and designs complete wind turbines, foundations and platforms for use in the onshore and offshore wind sector. Alternatively the company acts as a structural supervisor as a Third Party.
Based on the know-how and extensive experience of the engineers of the company they have led to innovative and robust solutions incorporated into the company's own catalogue of wind solutions systems (tower, foundation...). In particular, to develop a high value hybrid tower in which they have implemented he innovations needed to a successfully solution for the wind sector including the construction process. The new hybrid wind tower is formed with self-supporting elements with vertical joints (low requirement for tolerance) with a high structural stiffness which confers the system an easy assembly and savings of time and costs. The assembly method is considered as a part of the solution.
The company offers the hybrid tower patented solution in Spain, Europe and Australia. The technology can be offered under a development project agreement, or as a licensed product. It also can be studied a precast process through serial production.
The company also has foundations and platform solutions to be matched with this tower.
In order to expand and develop the business, the company is now looking for partners from the renewable energy sector to include any improvements, requirements or challenges. Target partners are industrial, wind, electric, construction companies; project developers; who want to reduce their LCOE costs ( Levelized Cost of Energy) under a commercial agreement with technical assistance. Licensing and developing the solution for international requirements is a possibility
The company is open to any technological cooperation in European Projects under a research and cooperation agreement. - Advantages and Innovations
-
The main innovation features of the hybrid tower are:
- Concrete self-supporting elements (longitudinal segments).
- Just vertical joints.
- Joints between the sectors with low requirements for tolerance.
- Reinforced, prestress or composite (steel and concrete) sectors.
- Concrete part of the hybrid tower height up to 100 meters, modular system.
- Compatible with off-shore platforms.
- Transition ring compatible with steel or concrete tower.
- Great structural stiffness due to its transverse section with little weight.
- Stiffness provides easy transportation, eliminates supports during assembly and eases the assembly itself.
- Reduces the operational and construction process (time), eliminates the temporary supports, the problems due to tolerance in joints, reducing the costs. - Technical Specification or Expertise Sought
- Renewable energy sector, industry sector, infrastructure and construction sector, generation of electrical power sector, wind farm project developers, wind turbine OEMS, onshore and offshore wind farm contractors, hybrid wind towers manufacturers, concrete precast sector.
