General information
- Short Summary
- A Greek cooperative of extra virgin olive oil producers that champions agroecology seeks like-minded stakeholders not only to distribute its product abroad but also to promote the benefits of traditional organic cultivation methods across the value chain. Commercial agreements and/or supplier agreements are sought
- Full Description
-
The Greek cooperative aims to build meaningful partnerships with relevant groups and/or organizations across all member states who share their vision for a fairer, more sustainable food system.
As a social cooperative based in Greece, they are active throughout the agri-food sector. From cultivation and organic production to processing, distribution, education, and awareness-building, they offer high-quality food products that are produced with care, transparency, and social responsibility. They are now ready to build networks of trust and collaboration that can carry these values across borders through a commercial agreement and/or supplier agreement.
Through such agreements, the cooperative’s aim is to co-create a living horizontal network that is not simply made up of buyers, sellers, distributors and resellers but one where all stakeholders are part of a collective project: one that challenges the logic of impersonal trade and replaces it with a human connection, a shared purpose, and fair conditions for all stakeholders.
Ultimately, the Greek cooperative seeks partners for a more humane model of food distribution. - Advantages and Innovations
-
The cooperative members are themselves the producers of the extra virgin olive oil on offer. They are not middlemen, nor are they a brand marketing someone else’s labor. They cultivate the land themselves, care for the trees, harvest the olives, oversee the processing, and stand behind the final product with full knowledge and responsibility. This direct involvement gives them a unique understanding of their work.
The cooperative does not cling to habits or traditions for their own sake. While local knowledge and agricultural heritage is respected and preserved, they are willing to question, learn, and adapt, whether it be testing a new organic farming technique, applying smart packaging solutions, exploring blockchain traceability, or organizing participatory training workshops.
The cooperative pursues responsible innovation that serves both people and the planet. They are not looking to maximize yield at any cost but instead aim to maximize value, trust, and long-term impact. This cooperative is based on a living space of experimentation, open exchange, and continuous evolution. - Stage of Development

Partner Sought
- Expected Role of a Partner
-
Distributors or resellers are sought through a supplier agreement but also companies that can act as a bridge between the Greek cooperative and the public in their own countries, communities, or networks, through a commercial agreement.
This role can take many shapes:
- Organize direct sales and pre-order schemes
- Facilitate community-supported agriculture models
- Host tasting events, info sessions, or workshops
- Gather feedback and preferences from end consumers
- Promote education around food sovereignty and agroecology.
- Ensure transparency and mutual accountability in the supply chain.
The Greek cooperative seeks support in communication, promotion, logistics, and/or technical tools. Similarly, the Greek cooperative is ready to support potential partners in whatever way is needed to help the eco-friendly business model succeed. This may include but is not limited to: sharing educational material, co-developing logistics, participating in campaigns, or offering direct access to its processes.
Essentially, they seek partners to help them innovate in the field, in the market, in the kitchen and in the community to build a business model that is smarter and fairer for all stakeholders, not least for the environment. - Type and Size of Partner
