General information

Short Summary
Colombian company in the tourism sector is looking for commercial agreements with European travel agencies interested in regenerative tourism, and environmental cooperation with universities or institutions focused on species conservation, environmental education and ecosystem restoration.
Full Description
Located in the central Andean region of Colombia, this company operates an ecolodge within a 65-hectare private nature reserve. Its main activity combines accommodation services with ecological restoration, biodiversity monitoring and environmental education in rural communities.
The reserve is home to more than 280 native species, including Andean condors, spectacled bears, ocelots and endemic cloud forest birds. Access to the lodge is via a private cable car across a glacial canyon, preserving the integrity of the ecosystem and reducing the impact of road infrastructure.
The operating model includes off-grid solar power, grey water treatment and reuse, landscaping with native species and use of local materials such as immunised wood and bamboo in construction. Educational programmes are developed with children from nearby communities, focusing on bird watching, conservation and sustainability principles.
The company has been recognised for its contribution to sustainable tourism models and has participated in events aligned with the Convention on Biological Diversity. It is in the process of internationalisation and is looking for:
- Commercial agreements with European travel agencies interested in nature tourism and regenerative experiences.
- Technical cooperation with universities, research centres or environmental entities focused on species conservation, environmental education or participatory ecological monitoring.
Advantages and Innovations
This project differentiates itself by its integrated approach that articulates accommodation, active conservation and environmental education. The remote location, accessible only by aerial cable, preserves natural habitats, controls the flow of visitors and minimises fragmentation of the landscape.
Its infrastructure has been designed under bioclimatic and sustainability principles, and its operations apply clean technologies, waste reduction and native flora restoration. The hybrid model makes it possible to finance conservation actions from the tourism activity, which generates direct environmental and social benefits.
On a social level, the educational programme developed with rural children promotes a local culture oriented towards conservation. In addition, we work collaboratively with local experts to monitor species and generate information for national databases.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought
Two profiles of partners with proven expertise and experience in specific areas are sought:
1. for commercial cooperation (travel agencies, tour operators and communication companies):
The ideal partner should have a track record in international tourism promotion, preferably in the luxury, nature or adventure tourism segments. Experience in:

Designing customised itineraries for high net worth travellers.
Promotion of unconventional or difficult to access destinations.
Development of strategic communication or public relations campaigns applied to tourism.
Knowledge of destinations in Latin America or emerging ecotourism markets.
Client base interested in sustainable travel and capacity to position differentiated experiences in competitive markets.
2. For environmental cooperation (universities, research centres and non-governmental organisations):
Technical expertise in at least one of the following fields is required:
Wildlife conservation and biodiversity monitoring.
Ecological restoration of mountain ecosystems.
Environmental education with a community approach.
Applied ornithology or citizen science in rural contexts.
Development of educational content for schoolchildren in rural or intercultural areas.
Use of tools such as GIS, camera traps or participatory biological inventories.
In both cases, it is valued that partners are committed to sustainability, have evidence-based methodologies and are open to building long-term partnerships with verifiable results in environmental or social terms.
