General information

Short Summary
Access expertise and full-scale test facilities within (but not limited to) green shipping, floating offshore wind, CCS and Energy Transition in general.
Full Description
Access to flexible infrastructure and safe environments for testing, validation and demonstration of full-scale technology.

At Energy House, companies can test maritime energy systems up to 4 MW, including fuel cells, combustion engines, batteries, hybrid systems, and safety solutions. The facility supports multiple energy carriers like hydrogen, ammonia, and natural gas.

Zephyros, a floating offshore wind turbine, lets you test components and systems for floating wind and hybrid offshore energy setups under real conditions, such as sensors, monitoring systems, mooring solutions, subsea components, and hybrid systems including solar, wind, wave, and underwater storing technologies.

Their CCS test facility in Moss, operated in collaboration with Wärtsilä Exhaust Treatment, enables full-scale testing of carbon capture systems for vessels. The site supports testing in both lab and at-sea settings. It allows validation of all stages of the CO₂ capture process – from exhaust pre-treatment to onboard storage of liquefied CO₂.

For the Energy Transition, they offer additional test environments:
• Energy House also supports testing of non-maritime technologies (related to hydrogen and other energy carriers such as ammonia) and grid-supporting solutions such as load-leveling batteries and fuel cells.
• Utsira Living Lab enables testing of components, systems, or software within a real-world closed grid system.
• IFE Hydrogen Technology Center (HyNor) offers world-leading infrastructure for testing hydrogen and fuel cell technologies, operated by IFE.
• Matre Test and Training Center provides a modern, operator-supported facility for equipment testing with high technical standards.
Advantages and Innovations
Access to existing state-of-the art testing facilities saves you the costs of setting up validation, testing and demonstration facilities. In their facilities you are free to test what and how you want.
