Cloud complexity challenges a “perimeter" security paradigm built over 60 years that’s no longer effective. Tough data and ESG regulations, lack of unified control / visibility of data held by dominant Cloud providers, demand entities rethink how they protect and manage data across Cloud.
Ionburst addresses these challenges through a unified interface, designed to help entities address their regulatory requirements, including data sovereignty, and to drive down data, compliance and IT costs. - Full Description

Cloud
Data security is central to nearly everything that we do, especially for entities trusted to protect, manage and securely share sensitive and regulated data across Cloud. As data now lives everywhere, across multiple Clouds, on-premises and at the Edge, it is more important than ever before that entities manage their hybrid-Cloud data centrally. A key challenge to entities in achieving this is the paradigm shift from on-premises, relatively closed, “perimeter” data security that the open, multi-jurisdiction, multi-party Cloud paradigm brings.
For example, the World Economic Forum reports today’s solutions morphed from the on-premises paradigm don’t scale or work effectively, because of Cloud complexity.
Broader research reports our data is being compromised relentlessly by adversaries; Thales reports much isn’t even encrypted, so it’s virtually impossible to protect it from harm; and we lack effective skills and solutions, despite larger cybersecurity budgets
Regulations
As Cloud developed, the European Union led regulatory change to protect citizens with appropriate data privacy and sovereignty regulations.
These regulatory changes challenge multi-Cloud infrastructure, especially when dominated by Cloud providers (hyperscalers) that must comply with non-aligned national regulations.
The concept of sovereignty has also been “redefined” by US Cloud providers setting up “sovereign” Cloud regions across Europe, akin to their existing regional centres.
Such moves may allay concerns, but highlight critical challenges poorly understood by industry and regulators. For example can any European entity relying on such providers verify:
• Where data is stored and how many copies?
• Consistent compliance across regulators?
• Visibility of data and exactly how it’s protected?
• Data is hardened against ransomware or Cloud provider outage?
Problem
Entities lack solutions to deliver a unified interface for central management of data stored and shared across multi-Clouds. They lack unified solutions to address their regulatory requirements, including data sovereignty, which can help reduce compliance costs. Regulators demand better operational resilience, lower concentration risk and data sovereignty. Governance initiatives demand better ESG delivery and lower data overheads. Entities need a solution that gives them control to choose their Cloud providers and manage their sovereign-hybrid Cloud data with complete visibility and verifiability. They should be self-reliant.
Solution - Ionburst - Building a hybrid-Cloud data security and compliance solution that’s child’s play to use.
A patented hybrid-Cloud solution helping entities to protect and share data across their multi-Cloud infrastructure via a unified control interface, without being tied to any Cloud provider.
Ionburst bridges the security gap between data on-premises and the Cloud by providing strong security guardrails and integrated data management. IBM recognises Ionburst as a top 40 fintech globally.
Ionburst overcomes weaknesses in existing solutions via its patented “data out” protection. By embedding security, recovery resilience and sovereignty measures into every data object, Ionburst empowers data to become an agent in its own defence and repair, able to withstand advanced adversary attacks and to recover from ransomware, irrespective of where it travels or is stored, without ever duplicating data. Entities can leverage Ionburst’s science via an easy to use management interface designed to help them overcome key data risk and compliance challenges across their hybrid-Cloud infrastructure.
Entities align their business data compliance and security policies by combining Ionburst automated:
1. Encryption policies for validatable security;
2. Fragmentation policies for assured obfuscation and privacy;
3. Storage locations and regions for assured sovereignty and regions for assured sovereignty and recovery - Advantages and Innovations
-
Ionburst gives entities cheaper, better, simple to enforce control over sensitive & regulated data moved, stored and shared across hybrid-Cloud, with the most advanced data protection available.
Ionburst advantages
Unlike global players like AWS, and EU players like OVH, Ionburst delivers 24x7 multi-Cloud control, visibility and choice directly to entities, with:
1. Automated, consistent, data compliance, sovereignty & security across multi-Cloud and other Infrastructure;
2. Data recoverable from Cloud provider or region failure, ransomware or other advanced attacks, without duplicating data;
3. Secure legacy integration and migration with full reconciliation for verifiability;
4. 24x7 multi-Cloud threat monitoring with automated data portability;
5. Multi-Cloud and on premises deployments with active failover;
6. Immediate ROI; lower resource cost; no vendor lock-in.
Ionburst’s unique management portal drives further advantage. It helps business users to align business and cybersecurity risk profiles easily. Ionburst automates the resulting data transformation, with 24x7 verifiable dashboard reporting, threat mitigation and cost control to aid business decision making.
IT alignment is managed by a “data plane” portal, delivering consistent cybersecurity, compliance, and sovereign region management across multi-Cloud and on premises infrastructure.
Patented innovations include:
1. Automated dynamic encryption at object level;
2. Object level symmetric key distribution and revolution;
3. Crypto-blinding and parallelisation for near-wire speed security at scale;
4. Embedded privacy compliance in every data object;
5. Resilient sovereign data distribution for assured recovery;
6. Quantum decryption resilient data transformation;
7. Data portability and migration across multi-Cloud and on-premises - Stage of Development
