A Colombian healthtech was founded in 2020 and was born from a Spin-Off of two universities in Colombia. They are dedicated to the design and development of custom medical devices obtained one by one according to the needs of each patient, using innovation and their own design and manufacturing processes, which not only focus on improving the quality of life of patients through functionality but also aesthetics. They offer customized craniomaxillofacial and orthopedic implants, digital surgical planning, and embrace research projects related to health tech.
They manufacture their products in the most used materials in the market, Titanium grade 5 (Ti6Al4V), Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA), and Polyetheretherketone (PEEK), and in their own development, porous PEEK with Hydroxyapatite (HA). This last one is what makes them unique in the market, due to several companies worldwide making custom bone implants, nevertheless, they are the only ones with a material that resembles bone, osseointegrates with it, and allows radiographic follow-p.
Currently, they have 7 active dealers in Colombia and during this year they started some negotiations to sell their products in Latin America, in addition, they are working on their orthopedic and spine line to introduce it in the market. They are in a phase of expansion, and they want to scale up through the development and positioning of their raw material of porous PEEK with HA, leading that anywhere in the world can produce implants in this material.

When they compare their porous PEEK with HA with other polymers commonly used in custom implants, they observe that it has grater advantages regarding the osseointegration capability, bioactivity, and regeneration. Moreover, it reduces stress shielding, eliminates growth restrictions, and allows the fixation of the implant with resorbable materials, therefore, the patient has no metal parts inside.
