General information

Short Summary
A rural initiative located in Jericó, Colombia, offers investment opportunities in trout and avocado farming. It provides training in sustainable rural tourism and seeks technical advice to implement eco-friendly land management practices across its 170 hectares. The site also offers lodging and nature-based experiences and holds strong agricultural potential.
Full Description
A rural estate located in the Andean region of Antioquia, Colombia, manages 170 hectares with agro-industrial and tourism development potential. With over 15 years of experience in sustainable trout farming and 8 years in avocado cultivation, the project integrates food production with responsible land management practices.

While its involvement in hospitality services is recent, the estate is actively opening its doors to visitors interested in exploring the cultural, agricultural, and natural richness of the region. It offers a unique environment where agroecology, biodiversity, and traditional rural livelihoods coexist.

The estate’s long-term vision is to establish itself as a model for integrated rural development, combining agro-industrial activities with sustainable tourism and environmental education. Its location provides opportunities for nature-based experiences such as trout fishing, agro-tourism, and ecological walks, which are currently under development.

To achieve this, the project is seeking strategic and technical cooperation with institutions, NGOs, academic entities, and tourism operators that can support the design and implementation of sustainable tourism models, environmental conservation strategies, and visitor experience development.

Potential areas of collaboration include:

- Technical support for eco-tourism infrastructure and interpretive planning

- Conservation and reforestation initiatives

- Capacity building in rural hospitality and sustainable tourism

- Development of agro-tourism experiences focused on education, biodiversity, and gastronomy

The estate is committed to improving environmental stewardship, generating alternative income for the local community, and strengthening the value of Colombia’s rural territories through innovative and sustainable practices.
Advantages and Innovations
This family-operated hacienda is located in the highlands of Jericó, Antioquia, a region recognized for its ideal conditions for trout farming and avocado cultivation. Its elevation, reliable water sources, and stable climate create optimal conditions for high-quality, sustainable production. The enterprise draws on intergenerational expertise to maintain consistency in agricultural practices while pursuing continuous improvement through the adoption of new technologies and strategic partnerships.

The farm is currently strengthening its operational model with a focus on sustainability and innovation, aiming to reduce environmental impact and increase productivity. This includes investments in resource-efficient systems and collaborative work with regional actors to improve traceability and product quality. Its integrated approach—anchored in family tradition but open to modernization—positions the hacienda as a valuable partner in sustainable agriculture and specialty food production in Colombia’s Andean region.
