General information

Short Summary
TerraSens, an SME based in Croatia, provides integrated precision agriculture solutions in EU. Our services combine multispectral drone imaging for early crop stress detection, precise pesticide and fertilizer application, and smart irrigation using proprietary soil moisture sensors.
Full Description
TerraSens is a Croatian SME specializing in integrated precision agriculture services aimed at optimizing resource use, increasing yields, and promoting sustainable farming. Its approach combines multispectral drone imaging for early detection of crop stress such as disease, drought, or nutrient deficiencies, with precision spraying of pesticides and fertilizers using drones to reduce chemical usage and costs. In addition, TerraSens develops smart irrigation systems based on soil moisture sensors that enable efficient and targeted water management.

Pilot projects are currently underway with local farmers to validate system performance and demonstrate agronomic benefits. To support further expansion, TerraSens is looking for international partners in several key areas. We are interested in collaborating with agricultural service providers or cooperatives that wish to offer our solutions through flexible subscription models or pay-per-hectare pricing. Additionally, we seek research institutions or IoT manufacturers open to co-developing and testing sensors and data analytics tools. We also welcome participation in EU-funded project consortia, particularly those applying for agriculuture and innovative SMEs related programmes.

By partnering with TerraSens, partners gain access to a turnkey, scalable precision‑agriculture suite that aligns with the EU Green Deal’s objectives for climate‑smart farming and circular resource use. We invite expressions of interest from distributors, R&D partners to accelerate the adoption of data‑driven, environmentally responsible agriculture across Europe.
Advantages and Innovations
TerraSens combines remote‑sensing and proprietary sensor technology to deliver integrated precision‑agriculture platform. Our innovation begins with self-engineered soil‑moisture sensors that provide accurate, real‑time data on field conditions, enabling site‑specific irrigation.

By fusing these soil condition insights with high‑resolution multispectral drone imagery, we generate actionable prescriptions for targeted spraying of pesticides and fertilizers, reducing costs and environmental impact.

Our hardware is designed and manufactured in Croatia, ensuring affordability and rapid customization for diverse crop types and terrain. Flexible subscription and pay‑per‑hectare models make advanced agronomic intelligence accessible to farms of all sizes, accelerating adoption and maximizing return on investment.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought
We are looking for expertise in designing high‑precision Frequency Domain Reflectometry (FDR) soil‑moisture sensors with volumetric water‑content accuracy of ±1 % across the full 0–100 % range, including integrated temperature and salinity compensation. We also require a robust, weather‑proof enclosure rated to IP67. On the software side, partners should provide cloud‑based data‑fusion and AI‑driven analytics capable of ingesting both FDR measurements and multispectral drone imagery to generate real‑time agronomic recommendations. Integration expertise with compliance with EU data‑security standards are essential.

Partner Sought

Expected Role of a Partner
We are seeking three types of partners.

First, precision agriculture technology companies or IoT device manufacturers with proven expertise in sensor design and low power electronics, who can co develop and pilot our next generation FDR moisture probes and integrate them into robust, field ready hardware.

Second, agricultural service providers active in arable and horticultural production, ideally with experience in drone based crop monitoring and data driven farm management, who can deploy our combined sensor and drone solutions in real world trials, provide user feedback for iterative improvement, and ultimately facilitate rollout under subscription or pay per hectare models.

Third, we seek partnerships with universities or research centres, particularly faculties of agriculture, soil science, geotechnical engineering or remote sensing, that can assist in sensor calibration, controlled field experiments and agronomic data analysis. We would validate measurement accuracy across diverse soil types, support scientific publication of results, and guide optimization of AI driven analytics algorithms.
