General information

Short Summary
A Swedish Startup has developed a digital plattform that enables fast, safe, transparent and accurate inventory of roundwood bales, wood chip stacks and recycled fiber. With the platform, users can sustainably ensure inventory balances, improve financial monitoring, optimize processes, and raw material flows. They are now looking for partners in the wood supply industry, such as sawmills, pulp and paper sites and timber terminals, for commercial agreements with technical assistance.
Full Description
A Swedish startup has created a digital inventory system that allows users to manage their raw material inventory with efficiency and precision. This innovative system is powered by an intuitive digital platform that integrates imaging data processing algorithms and data visualization, utilizing lightweight drones for data collection. The system is currently in use by leading wood suppliers in Sweden.

The inventory process is performed semi-automatically using drones and calculation algorithms. The volumes are measured directly in high-resolution 3D models of reality. This means that you remove the human factor from the inventory process and in this way you get coherent inventory results that do not depend on who has carried out the measurements themselves.

Drone inventory eliminates the need for production halts. A quick 15-minute aerial scan replaces the lengthy 3-hour manual process. This efficient workflow leads to more frequent inventory updates, offering improved data for production planning and financial reporting.

The startup is actively seeking partnerships within the wood supply industry, targeting sawmills, pulp and paper plants, and timber terminals across Europe, North America, and South America that are interested in efficient and precise inventory management of their raw material stocks.
Advantages and Innovations
The inventory process utilizes an automated approach, employing drones and computational algorithms. Volumes are ascertained through high-resolution 3D models that represent reality, thus eliminating the variability introduced by human involvement. Consequently, inventory results are consistent and independent of the individual conducting the measurements.

This technique is not only efficient but also produces high-resolution measurements, as the raw material undergoes scanning hundreds or even thousands of times.

Moreover, it ensures the safety of personnel, as they can conduct the inventory remotely, unlike traditional manual methods that necessitate the presence of the worker in potentially hazardous environments.

+ Data can be collected with light weight drones
+ Enables more regular inventory of stacks / raw material stock
+ Safe working environment
+ Data availability and the ability to share with all stakeholders
+ Ready for integration with business systems and other warehouse systems
