Full Description
A Dutch expertise center for epilepsy and sleep medicine a center of expertise epilepsy in sleep medicine. They work with clinics and residential areas to enhance the lives of individuals with epilepsy and sleep disorders. There are three residential locations where patients live and participate in daytime activities. These patients not only have epilepsy but are also diagnosed with developmental disabilities and related disorders, such as autism and/or physical disabilities.

The center is looking for solutions aiming at allowing patients of all developmental levels and with multiple disabilities, to enjoy their participation in day care. For many of them, producing (excessive) sounds is the way they communicate. To provide everyone with an enjoyable day and sensory-friendly environment, This center is in search of a solution that can allow patients who produce sounds and patients who cannot process these sounds, to co exists within these areas. By 2025, the new day activity center will be available. This location meets the latest legislation and building requirements, improving acoustics within these rooms.

The problem around sound transmission is also discussed within the residential units. However, the solution is not transferable, where there is a mixed presence within the day care units. The new building is going to make a difference, but the patients who produce these sounds often have a tremendous urge to move, making the sound uncontrollable within a fixed space. This is also immediately the biggest challenge in finding a solution. Making loud noises is part of the patients' behavior. They produce these sounds when experiencing different emotions. Because of this, they are looking for solutions to make the appropriate adjustments in the environment.

They are looking for partners with solutions to allowe patients of all developmental levels and with multiple disabilities and provide everyone with an enjoyable day and sensory-friendly environment. Therefore the company wants to partner with companies who have knowledge of acoustics or have experience in workarea's where sound transmission has been a challenge.
