General information
- Short Summary
- SaaS software solution that makes ecom retailers save 30% on costs and 35% on CO2 emission from product returns. It enables sending a return item straight from the product-returning consumer to the next consumer. So the return product skips the warehouse. The product is re-offered for sale at a discount on the ecom retailer his own website. USP is calculating the optimum discount. This for-profit start-up is looking for a launching customer.
- Full Description
- The API headless connections and Shopify plug-in are available for use. In full the service is called Return Article Forwarding (RAF). RAF is financially validated at seven medium and big ecom retailers. They now look for an ecom retailer as launching customer. Consumers love RAF since they get financially and ecologically rewarded. The buying consumer gets a discount on a RAF purchase plus saves CO2 emissions. The forwarding consumer gets a reward, e.g. a discount code for a next purchase, when the buying consumer gives a good review. Product quality is assured in a specific way, quick refunding, assure delivery times and consumer privacy as well.
- Advantages and Innovations
-
- Reduces costs of ecom returns with 30%
- Reduces CO2 emissions of ecom returns with 35%
- Innovative aspect: RAF method processes returns Peer-to-Peer (P2P). A method also successfully pioneered by a Canadian competitor.
- USP: use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) methods from the Q-learning field (MCTS and ADP) to calculate the optimum discount to offer on a to-be resold return item.
- Track-record: financial validation of RAF at 7 medium and big ecom retailers, intense collaboration with a global fashion logistics provider, an academics publication with the Erasmus University of Rotterdam and knowledge institute TNO on their discount algorithms supporting RAF.
- Competitive positioning: RAF is a reactive measure to ecom returns, where lots of competitors focus on preventive measures to prevent a return to happen, e.g. with size advice, digital fitting, elaborate product pictures and videos. - Stage of Development
