Full Description
A Finnish research based SME, established in 2023, is developing a solution on solving the problem of marine oil spills using cutting-edge technology.

The product includes artificial intelligence (AI) driven solution for cleaning up oil spills in oceans, which is crucial given the significant environmental damage caused by such spills. The approach involves semi-autonomous robotic vessels equipped with booms and skimmers that work to contain and clean oil spills sustainably.

The product has achieved proof-of-concept phase and is ready for demonstration in real environment.

Finnish SME is searching for shipowners (tanker and cargo shipping companies), harbours, maritime authorities and marine insurance companies to cooperate in a proof-of-concept project. The role of partnership can be commercial agreement and/or research and development cooperation agreement.
Advantages and Innovations
The main advantages are:
-AI-powered oil spill simulator: this system predicts the spread of oil in the water and estimates the volume of oil that can be collected by each vessel.
-Semi-autonomous robotic vessels: these are dispatched to clean up the spill based on the simulation data, reducing the need for human intervention in hazardous environments.
-Real-time data collection and sharing: the system not only cleans up oil spills but also records data for future reference, which can help improve oil spill management strategies.
