General information

Short Summary
* Summary (1-500 characters)
The Finnish company offers service developed for tracing foodstuffs and boosting the efficiency of food production. The service is developed in cooperation with Finnish food producers. It makes the food production chain transparent and is a light and easy to use cloud-based system. Solution is completely mobile and it communicates with other food industry systems. The company is looking for distribution partners for their foodtech service in Netherlands and Denmark.
Full Description
The company was founded in 2015, its revenue is 450k€ and currently has a headcount of six. The team is highly skilled and experienced in software development, with a strong focus on technology. Presently, the company operates exclusively in Finland but aims to expand its operations to new market areas in other European countries.

A significantly growing number of responsible and progressive food producers are eager to demonstrate the origin and quality of their products. Oversight and regulations are also directing producers who may not yet be interested in these topics in the same direction.

The company's market share in Finland is still very small. Globally, the market for organic food is significant. There are more than three million organic food producers worldwide, and the organic market size is 106 billion euros.

The development of the system/service began in 2019 at the request of Finnish food producer companies. Unable to find a satisfactory existing solution on the market, development commenced from scratch while producers listed their needs and desires. The technology stack was chosen based on best practices and knowledge available at the time. Even today, the system/service continues to be developed by carefully listening to the needs of the producers/companies. The target companies are primarily small and mid-sized, as they often encounter similar challenges to those faced by the companies that initiated the development process.

The system guides and records food production from start to finish with ease. Its user experience is a key driving factor in development, ensuring simplicity and accessibility. Being lightweight and fully mobile, the system enhances operational efficiency. Integrations with other systems, such as orders and invoices, automate processes and streamline production operations. Throughout the food journey, the system collects a wealth of data including origin, traceability, material flow, and quality. There are ongoing developments and innovative ideas to leverage this data, such as providing consumers with information like CO2 values.

The company is seeking for partner from food industry, it would be advantageous if the partner also possesses software development capabilities. A strong network within the food industry is considered beneficial. Additionally potential partner having Sales and Marketing professionals in the company's own team would be advantageous.
The company is particularly interested in finding partners who would distribute and sell the system, with a share of the system included in the arrangement.
Advantages and Innovations
There are only a few similar systems in the market that focus solely on food production and are accessible to small and mid-size businesses.

Food producers actively steer and drive the development by proposing new feature needs to the company's tech team. Communication is kept very open and straightforward; producers are essentially part of the development team, which is unique.

Integration with other systems ensures smoother and faster operations. New technology facilitates easy integrations, which will remain important for the system's future.

A wealth of data will streamline food producers' daily lives. They can more easily control their production, having calculated that the system saves them the equivalent of one working day per week. Moreover, a vast amount of data will also support new innovations, particularly on the consumer side, for example sustainability values.
