General information
- Short Summary
- The French start-up has developped a new reactor technology to produce hydrogen and solid carbon from biomethane or natural gas. Using low energy plasma, the process is not only economical in electricity but also low-CAPEX and easily scalable thanks to its modular design. The company is looking for mid-size industrial original equipment manufacturer (OEM) capable of targeting this market and co-developing a complete solution integrating the innovative technological brick.
- Full Description
-
The start-up, based in the south of France, is developing a CO2-free, on-demand, on-site solution to produce low-cost sustainable hydrogen (H2) from biomethane or natural gas.
The company has conceived a new reactor technology to produce hydrogen and solid carbon from biomethane or natural gas. Using low energy plasma, the process is not only economical in electricity but also low-CAPEX and easily scalable thanks to its modular design.
This technological brick can be marketed through original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for various markets. Compactness and high energy efficiency make this solution suitable to all industrial sectors interested in competitive CO2-free hydrogen, e.g. decarbonization of industrial processes, land, sea & air transport sectors, production of green electricity, heating of buildings, or the production of hydrogen for the chemical industry. Installed directly on the consumption site, at the end of a gas line, it allows to use hydrogen on demand, without the need for storing and transporting H2, and it can be installed on existing gas infrastructures.
The French start-up is looking for research cooperation agreements, targeting mainly industrial OEMs in Europe to co-develop a complete hydrogen production solution. - Advantages and Innovations
-
- CO2 neutrality: This technology completely eliminates the generation of CO2, producing gaseous hydrogen at atmospheric pressure and carbon in solid form (nanometric powder).
- Competitive target price: due to electrical consumption equivalent to steam reforming and its low CAPEX, our solution makes it possible to reach a cost of producing CO2-free hydrogen, directly on site, which may be lower than the cost of today's grey hydrogen.
-The only solution allowing on-demand & on-site production of hydrogen, from a natural gas or bio-methane supply. It operates at atmospheric pressure and can be positioned as close as possible to industrial needs or within Hydrogen Refuelling Stations.
-The solution, compact and modular, fits into existing gas infrastructures and makes it possible to produce hydrogen on demand from a few kg to several tonnes per day.
-In average uses 5 times less electricity to produce 1 kg of hydrogen compared to an electrolyser - Stage of Development
- Available for demonstration
- Sustainable Development Goals
- Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
- Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being
- Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy

Partner Sought
- Expected Role of a Partner
-
Type of partner: mid-size / large size industrial original equipment manufacturers.
Role of the partner: identifying a concrete use-case in his market / geography. Elaborate a co-development project together and secure financing (public or private fonds) to launch the co-development projects. The French start-up will provide the technological brick (prototype, demonstrator and finished product) during the development phase and help the partner with the co-development program. The company can also help the partner in the search of public financing (national, european funding programmes).
The partner can also be university working on ur subject and end-clients that have current innovation program and would be interested to launch testing programs with our technology. - Type and Size of Partner
