The second-generation family clockmaker, based in southern Germany, revives a traditional craft that is threatened with extinction. Since 1984 the German clockmaker builds various mechanical precision clocks (longcase clocks, table clocks, flute clocks). The company is the sole maker of new organ clocks.
The clockmaker builds unique masterpieces in traditional craftsmanship. It takes several months to manufacture one of the exclusive and high quality clocks. The clocks are individually designed according to customer’s requirements and hand-made piece by piece. Almost all parts of the clocks (cabinets, dials, hands, wheels etc.) are designed and manufactured in the horological workshop. The strengths of the workshop lie in the depth of manufacturing experience, the use of exquisite materials, high precision, uncompromising quality, perfect design and the development of new ideas.
Clients are solvent and passionate devotees who look for extraordinary products and enduring values created to last for generations. The clocks are in the high-price segment with price levels in the 5- to 6-digit range.

The clocks have a glass cover which the clock manufactory buys from a craftsman. As this glassblower will soon retire, the clockmaker is searching for an additional glassblowing workshop.
Craftsmanship with individual handwork at the highest level is the basis of the clockmaker’s own work and therefore also an important requirement for any supplier. The manufacturer is searching for a trusting and long-term partnership under a supplier agreement. He is looking for a glassblower from the Czech Republic or another Eastern European country, as he has good experiences with the quality from glassblowers from this region.

Technical Specification or Expertise Sought

The glassblower should have a profound knowledge of the glassblowing craft and experience in creating mouth blown pieces according to the specifications. The partner should be able to meet highest quality standards and make round as well as oval glass domes.

The clock manufactory is looking for a glass blower for handcraft manufacturing of glass domes for his clocks. The clockmaker is in particular interested in a cooperation under a supplier agreement with glassblowing workshops from the Czech Republic and other Eastern European countries.
-The glass domes should match with the existing wooden bases of the manufacturers clocks.
-The glass should be very flat and equal in shape.
-The quantity is from 5-10 pieces per order. The frequency of orders depends on the sale of clocks.
