General information
- Short Summary
- A German company specialises in providing advanced treatment technology for medium to large-scale composting and biological treatment facilities. Their system is designed to be flexible with various input materials, adaptable to changing volumes, and highly effective in sanitizing problematic germs and bacteria. The company seeks partners for commercial or outsourcing agreements across Europe, including local municipalities, public entities and private investors.
- Full Description
-
The German company was founded in 2024 with the mission to provide cutting-edge treatment technology for medium to large-scale composting and biological treatment facilities. The primary goal was to develop a system that is highly flexible with input materials, adaptable to changes in input volume, and reliable in sanitizing problematic germs and bacteria. The system not only stands out for its low investment, treatment, and maintenance costs, but it is also environmentally friendly, as it prevents the formation of anaerobic gases and significantly reduces the carbon footprint of the facility.
Every organic substance can be organically degraded. The system is capable of producing compost from any of these types of input materials. The system enables the biological treatment and hygienisation of
- Green waste
- Restaurant and market waste
- Sewage sludge
- Residues from fermentation
- Biological stabilization of municipal waste.
The technology offers innovative advantages, such as reduced treatment time, low energy consumption, and a modular, expandable system that adapts to different waste materials. Their proven system is effective in all climate conditions, and despite being a new company, they have extensive experience, having built 18 facilities handling 1.5 million tons of waste annually.
The process is based on air-driven, pressure-aerated composting with a semi-permeable membrane cover. Microorganisms facilitate the biological decomposition of organic matter, generating heat (up to 85°C), which ensures the hygienisation of the material. In a very short time, this results in high-quality fertilizer for agriculture or substrate soil production. The ACT system is very space-efficient due to its high throughput. The combination of pressure aeration and semi-permeable membrane results in very low CO2 equivalents being emitted (making it very environmentally friendly), and the machine park of a facility can be kept very compact.
The system can be easily scaled; small facilities should have a minimum annual input of 2,000 tons, with no upper limit.
Any form of organic matter can be biologically decomposed. There are two main challenges: ventilation— if the sewage sludge is too moist, a lot of bulking material must be added to achieve the correct porosity; additionally, local authorities must give their approval. There are facilities with comparable systems that process slaughter waste and animal carcasses; for example: after eight weeks, nothing remains of a horse except for the horseshoe.
In Germany, it is not the composting systems that are certified, but rather the quality of the output that is monitored. The most important requirement is achieving hygienization. According to regulations, this is achieved by heating the material to 55°C for 14 days, 60°C for 6 days, or 65°C for 3 days. With the ACT system, reliable temperatures of over 70°C can be maintained for up to 20 consecutive days. The heat is generated solely by the high activity of microorganisms, even in cold seasons (air temperatures of -20°C pose no problem).
Potential partners can collaborate on various project phases, from initial contact and feasibility discussions to planning, installation, and commissioning. The company values partners with a background in agriculture, environmental understanding, or connections within the composting community, though these are not mandatory.
Customers can be local municipalities or any other public support as well as private investors. - Advantages and Innovations
-
- Economical: The short treatment time enables high throughput in a compact space, keeping investment costs very low. Power consumption remains minimal, as do operation and maintenance costs, due to the limited machinery required.
- Ecological: A special membrane reduces odors by up to 90%, while bacteria, germs, spores, and dust are contained within the system. By maintaining optimal conditions within the treated material, temperatures of up to 85°C are achieved, ensuring the breakdown of organic matter and the elimination of pathogens.
- Adjustable: The system is modular, making it easy to expand and adapt to higher throughput or different materials. It can be used to produce compost from any type of organic waste. Additionally, it can stabilize mixed household waste before it is deposited in a landfill, reducing the weight and biological activity of the waste, which in turn lowers disposal fees.
- Smart Software: The software provides live monitoring of temperatures across all compost heaps, offers a real-time overview of the sanitation status, and enables batch tracking with detailed observation of decomposition losses and material flows throughout the facility.
- Simple System: The straightforward design of the System allows anyone to operate a facility efficiently. - Stage of Development

Partner Sought
- Expected Role of a Partner
-
The company is looking for partners for collaboration, either to work on individual project phases or to explore networking opportunities. The company is eager to share its expertise in composting and the benefits of compost while expanding its network.
The founder of the company has overseen the construction of 18 facilities in just six years, with a combined annual capacity of nearly 1.5 million tons of waste. This achievement, along with previous employment experiences, has provided the founder with a vast wealth of expertise in the field.
Although the company is newly founded, the system behind it is well-proven and operates effectively in all climate conditions.
Having a local cooperation partner increases the chances of doing business successfully. Typically, the process of a project follows a standard progression. Cooperation partners could be involved in one or multiple steps of this process:
1. First Contact: Exchange knowledge and inform potential customers about the benefits for their facility (this usually takes place at an exhibition).
2. Feasibility: Discuss the feasibility of the project with the customer, either on-site or remotely.
3. Trial Unit: To demonstrate the system's functionality, a small demonstration unit can be installed at the customer's facility to showcase its performance.
4. Planning: If the customer is satisfied with the results, the German company provides support during the planning phase in collaboration with the engineering office.
5. Installation and Commissioning: The company will be on-site during construction for several key milestones, including training for plant operators and the commissioning process.
A background in agriculture or a basic understanding of environmental principles would be very helpful, but not mandatory. Most skills are easy to acquire. A network with municipalities, decision-makers (both private and public), and/or the composting community is highly valued. - Type and Size of Partner
