General information

Short Summary
A German developer of bed and room sensors for patient monitoring in hospitals or care facilities from Aachen is looking for a sales and development partner for a commercial and/or technical agreement.
Full Description
The life expectancy of the population in industrialised nations is steadily increasing. Many elderly people are affected by dementia in old age and can no longer adequately provide a safe environment. Accidents such as falls and other accidents are becoming more frequent, which leads to a deterioration in the general condition of the elderly. In the clinical setting, the responsibility for the elderly rests with the staff, who cannot guarantee permanent 1-to-1 monitoring.
A German developer of bed and room sensors offers innovative solutions for monitoring elderly patients. It offers two smart solutions that support nursing staff in monitoring patients.

The bed sensor:
The bed sensor is placed at the height of the edge of the bed and detects when a person sits down on the edge of the bed. In this case, a caregiver is immediately notified, who can then help the person, for example, on the way to the toilet. The bed sensor can distinguish whether it is really a person or a bedspread; a bedspread does not trigger an alarm.
Various sensors are installed in the bed sensor, and intelligent software evaluates the data from the sensors. These sensors will enable even more functions in the future, so that new functions can often be added to existing devices via software updates. The nevisCura bed sensor is usually connected to a call system, in rare cases also to a home emergency call or other alarm units.

The room sensor:
The room sensor is a sensor system for care and healthcare facilities that detects and analyses activities in the room. A caregiver can then quickly rush to help after a fall, for example, to prevent serious consequences, or the night light can be switched on after getting out of bed to provide orientation for residents on their way to the bathroom. By analysing residents' behaviour over a period of time, illnesses can also be detected at an early stage and care can be better tailored to each individual resident.

The company is looking for sales partners and technology partners for joint further development.
The products have the CE standard.
The team of the German company speaks German / English / Greek / French / Italian.
Advantages and Innovations
Both systems are easy to integrate and facilitates patient monitoring. They are unremarkable and do not disturb the patient.

The bed sensor:
The bed sensor can be flexibly switched between rooms. The occupants do not have to carry any objects or become active themselves. At the same time, the technology also respects privacy because, unlike cameras or 3D sensors, no sensitive data is collected. This makes it superior to other products used today, as the devices they are intended for are often not worn in practice, the technologies strongly interfere with privacy, the system does not have sufficient accuracy, has a very high installation and maintenance effort or is very expensive.

The room sensor:
The system is based on our unique sensor band, similar to an LED strip, which discreetly analyses movements in a room. We use active infrared LEDs and sensors for the sensor band. The tape is mounted a few centimetres above the floor on the wall side, for example at the height of or integrated into skirting boards. Intelligent software analyses the interruptions of the infrared connections by people or objects in the room so that it recognises and classifies movement patterns. Data processing takes place in a small base station located in each room.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought
Sales partners in the respective countries should already have experience in inpatient care or hospitals and be willing to jointly develop the technology further, for example also adapted to the respective country.
