General information
- Short Summary
- The Hungarian company's mission is to prevent run-over accidents at designated pedestrian crossings, thus reduce the number of such accidents to zero. The SafeXOne SYSTEM is a 100% Hungarian-developed, innovative pedestrian protection system. One of the main advantages is that it warns drivers of pedestrians approaching and staying at the crossing, giving drivers a dynamic warning of the current danger situation, which is much more effective than static warning.

How the SafeXOne system works
The pillars of SafeXOne are the 2-2 posts placed at the four corners of the pedestrian crossing, on the opposite sidewalks. Motion detection sensors mounted in the posts on either side of the crosswalk in the waiting area detect when a pedestrian is about to cross the designated crossing. The system is effective at detecting false alarms, so that it only switches on when a pedestrian arrives and crosses the crosswalk, ensuring that drivers take the system's signals seriously.
As part of the active mode, amber flashers mounted at eye level on the side of the posts, with focused brightness adapted to the external lighting conditions, are also activated and can alert drivers to a reduced or distracted hazard from a distance of up to 150 m. However, they are barely visible from the side, so they do not disturb the surroundings. In night mode, amber flashers operate at reduced intensity to avoid dazzling.
At twilight, during the night-evening period (customisable as to when), the secondary protection system, a laser footlight option mounted at the base of the columns, is activated, emitting light to create a laser plane over the roadway. This light is basically invisible, but when the pedestrian steps off, the light will then streak across the pedestrian's foot, further highlighting the pedestrian's movement and making the pedestrian's movement visible. This proprietary protection system provides additional information about the pedestrian's position, speed and direction, making the system even safer and more efficient. This operating scheme ensures that drivers do not become habituated to SafeXOne's signals, effectively helping to prevent traffic accidents caused by habitual driving. Drivers are able to detect the unusual and highly visible light effect from a safe distance, enabling them to prepare and stop in time for the crosswalk. This can reduce the number of accidents to zero at crosswalks protected by our SafeXOne system.
Pedestrians also feel safer knowing that they are more visible to motorists at crossings protected by SafeXOne.
If there is no possibility to connect the system to the grid near the pedestrian crossing to be protected, the system can be powered by solar panels. Solar panels can be used to keep the system operational during cloudy periods of up to 2 weeks.
If required, it is possible to illuminate the pedestrian crossing from above with an additional LED light source. In this way, the waiting area on either side of the crosswalk can be clearly visible while pedestrians are crossing the road.
SafeXOne is a truly intelligent traffic safety system. As an IoT device, it can record crossing events and the status of the posts (how much power is in the batteries, if there is a problem, e.g. if a post has fallen over). This information is sent to the control centre via wireless communication (3G/4G). This data is also available to the system operators via any smart device.
An additional advantage of solar power and wireless communication is that the SafeXOne system can be freely relocated at any time, or even during events, celebrations, parades, etc., when a municipality has to cope with an increased number of cars and pedestrians compared to normal everyday traffic, where increased security is required. For these events, the SafeXOne system can be a means of enhanced security.
The SafeXOne system is low maintenance! - Advantages and Innovations
-
Compared to conventional systems, SafeXOne can be installed anywhere without disturbing the pavement, avoiding the deterioration of the road surface, as there is wireless communication between the posts.
It also requires no mains power and can be powered by solar panels.
The SafeXOne system is able to eliminate all the most dangerous conditions for pedestrian crossings at the same time:
- At dusk, when street lights are not yet on but visibility is already severely reduced.
- At night, when street lighting is inadequate or obstructed (e.g. dense vegetation, dark-coloured clothing of pedestrians).
- At dusk and at night, when rainy or foggy weather conditions develop.
- Blind driving caused by oncoming traffic.
True intelligent zebra, the columns communicate with the central monitoring system via NB IoT. This allows online monitoring of the system's operation from anywhere, from any smart device, such as crossing statistics (when, how many people crossed the crosswalk, from which direction), but also statistical analysis of sunshine data or other data available from its sensors.
In the event of any anomaly, the client's servers will send a weighted warning to the operator (email, sms, app), with a frequency depending on the urgency of the intervention.
Self-diagnostics - the SafeXOne system is able to monitor its own status and, if necessary, send an alert to the cleint's servers on an ad-hoc basis.
Remote configuration - a changed need can, in many cases, be reconfigured remotely. For example, the light level for night-time operation.
Power management information - battery operation for uninterruptible power supply - can even be used for preventive maintenance.
Traffic counting enhancements - preparing the system to connect to infrastructure serving self-driving vehicles; (V2X), connectivity to Smart City. - Stage of Development

Partner Sought
- Expected Role of a Partner
-
1. The company's goal is to reach out directly to people, municipalities, road owners, national decision-makers on transport issues, road safety associations in the targeted countries by making the SafeXOne system widely known.
2. Direct customers can be the owners of the roads concerned, local authorities, road safety organisations, associations or the competent authorities managing the roads in the planned location of the SafeXOne system. In this case, the product could be sold under a subcontracting agreement. Providing the complete SafeXOne system, including the know-how, and the subcontractor would be responsible for the installation and commissioning of the system and the local permits required for its operation.
3. Potential resellers or distributors could be contractors or subcontractors of contractors involved in road construction, including the street lighting sector, who carry out road construction in the countries concerned. They would be responsible for identifying potential customers and then installing the systems. They would also be responsible for obtaining local permits. It could be agreed whether the installation of the system would be entirely the responsibility of the resellers or whether it would be carried out by the company.
4. Within the framework of a joint venture agreement, the production of the SafeXOne system could be carried out by manufacturing the system's support columns, solar panel support columns in the respective countries within the framework of a manufacturing agreement, either by our future partners or by contract manufacturing, so that the company would be responsible for providing the 'know how', i.e. the electronic unit developed for the pedestrian safety system, the intellectual product itself, would be added to each SafeXOne system ordered and manufactured. The installation of the systems would also be the responsibility of the partners. - Type and Size of Partner
