General information
- Short Summary
- German SME expert in mathematical modeling for safety offers predictions of road risks, accidents, jams and wants to submit a proposal for HORIZON-CL5-2026-01-D6-14. Aim is to develop an AI-powered digital twin of traffic/infrastructure, predicting high-risk periods, assessing routes and weather impact, establishing a transport mode database etc. They seek partners in e.g. AI models, AI-driven traffic modeling, traffic data owners, automotive manufacturers, infrastructure and autonomous driving
- Full Description
-
The German SME is an expert in calculations, forecasts, recommendations and solutions for various specific processes. They have developed a methodology of mathematical modelling. The methodology involves mathematical modeling of safety processes and calculations of safety-relevant events.
The SME is planning a project providing their new technology which enables the prediction of potential risks, inconsistencies and hazards in road traffic, as well as the preparation of preventive measures.
The results of their calculations and forecasts in road traffic include:
- Calculation of the probability of accidents and traffic jams for specific roads, cities, areas
- Calculation of the degree of risk for the driver by month, week, day, and hour
- Calculation of the degree of risk for the vehicle by month, week, day, and hour
- Risk assessment of the chosen route by days and hours
- Evaluation of the effectiveness of weather conditions on a selected route
The obvious existence of an algorithm for the occurrence of accidents has been demonstrated. This algorithm is known to the SME. The accuracy of the calculations is over 90%.
The SME’s technology combined with AI aims to increase the probability of achieving the objectives of the HORIZON-CL5-2026-01-D6-14 call.
The project idea is to develop an AI-powered digital twin of traffic and infrastructure. The SME will integrate into this digital twin the periods during which traffic accidents and fatalities are most likely to occur. These periods are displayed by day for the entire year, for each month, with the longest dangerous periods indicated.
The next step is to provide an algorithm for creating a database of the main modes of transport in cities and towns, with the goal of creating an information database on the main modes of transport.
The SME is looking for partners from fields such as AI, AI models and AI-driven traffic modeling, traffic data owners, automotive manufacturers, traffic safety authorities, researchers, and autonomous driving industry. Operators of transport infrastructure necessary for the transport of people and goods. This includes roads, railways, airports, ports, bridges, tunnels, and associated traffic control systems.
Other SME’s tasks include:
- Development of a digital twin of traffic and infrastructure based on AI
- Provision of data on traffic and infrastructure in cities
- Coordination of the project
The partners are responsible for integrating the expertise, technologies, and data from their respective areas into the project.
The SME would also be interested join a consortium for the call that could make use of their proven expertise in risk modelling and safety forecasting for traffic systems . - Stage of Development
