In particular micro-enterprises, SMEs, scale-ups, start-ups, spin-offs, laboratories, research groups or researchers with a solution or know-how suitable to the open call challenges can participate.

Participants will have the opportunity to propose their solutions to the challenges launched by the 21 partner Corporates from Emilia-Romagna, initiating potential pilots and collaborations.

Challenges launched regard Circular Economy and Water Nexus. Specifically the challenges of Cluster 3 focus on “ New materials and resources optimization”.

In particular, the challenge deals with scouting for new materials and methods to optimize business and industrial resources, with a focus on innovation and sustainability.

4. Materials, tools or methodologies for manufacturing items with expanded polymers
5. Biological and sustainable liquid adhesives for woodworking
6. Methodologies or technologies for filtering aqueous solutions to purify proteins derived from waste materials
7. Research of sustainable textile fabrics that safely store and conduct energy.

Solutions sought by the actors participating in this cluster should have a minimum TRL of 3 and ensuring compliance with Warranties, Intellectual Property Declarations, and Content Conformity
Participation in the program is free and research and/or commercial cooperation is envisaged depending on the solutions’ TRL. The 21 companies will discuss the exact type of cooperation with the potential partners.

IMPORTANT:

During registration, interested applicants will be asked to select one challenge that corresponds with this technology request profile. If admitted to the programme, participants will benefit from business modelling and pitching training support and they will be able to create their (presentation) profile to connect with the companies in order to organise 1to1 matchmaking meetings.

The Emilia-Romagna companies who are the challenge owners will select the organisations that they would like to meet for the development of the solution.

Application closes on the 13th of December 2024 and December 20th is the last day for matchmaking meetings.

It is recommended to submit the application as soon as possible to take full advantage of the entire matchmaking period, hence maximising the opportunity to meet the companies and identify potential collaboration opportunities.
