General information
- Short Summary
- An Irish and Canadian SME want to join a consortium and are are proposing a HAB detection application by developing and training an AI model that would detect HABs from captured EO hyperspectral images. Once this detection model is available it can execute (inference) on Copernicus EO data providing much more timely insight and alert (materially quicker than existing alert systems) to end-users.
- Full Description
-
Designing space-based downstream applications with international partners (HORIZON-EUSPA-2023-SPACE-01-46)
An Irish and Canadian SME want to join an established consortium that is looking for a high potential and complex use case of Copernicus Hyperspectral imagery. The use case development proposed is AI models for Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) detection, for use by the aquaculture sector and other end users interested in water quality monitoring. - Advantages and Innovations
-
The advantages of this system is
- an early warning HAB detection system, using a developed and trained an AI model,
- can detect and monitor blooms from captured hyperspectral earth observation (EO)
images.
- this AI detection model will be able to analyze large spatial volumes of EO hyperspectral
data
- and deliver a threat analysis in a matter of minutes.
- this insight can then be immediately delivered to an end-user, for example direct to their
