The Company is committed to improving patient outcomes in heart valve replacement and is developing a polymeric transcatheter aortic valve replacement. The company is a startup on a mission to change the way heart valves are made with a vision of sustainability for the patient and the planet.

The company has an opportunity for a Polymer Scientist to work with in product development and
R&D through the next phases of growth. The ideal candidate must be adaptable, inquisitive,
resourceful, and technically minded with a desire to learn and have their hands in many pots.
The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of a small dynamic team with the opportunity to learn and grow across several aspects of the business.

The technology aim is to provide the disruptive innovation required to improve clinical outcomes and increase valve durability, while significantly reducing the cost and carbon footprint associated with current pericardium-based solutions. The technology is a fully synthetic polymer-based material without animal tissue.

IPR description
Lead the development, characterization, and testing activities of materials, particularly
polymers for use in a novel percutaneous heart valve device.
• Design and develop processing techniques.
• Optimize polymer chemistry for improved device performance and durability.
• Evaluate the biocompatibility of materials using ISO 10993.
• Complete material stability evaluations including any required analytical testing, crosslinking assessments, and shelf-life testing.
• Fabrication of implantable devices for device development and prototyping.
• Hands-on lab work including polymer synthesis.
• Conduct in-depth literature reviews and studies to analyze existing research data,
identify knowledge gaps, and stay up to date on latest advances.
• Partner on process development for device manufacturing to ensure materials /
polymer compatibility with processing conditions involved in device assembly, post
processing, and sterilization.
• Lead or participate as required in Root Cause Analysis of any device / material issues
during development and testing.
