General information
- Short Summary
-
Italian company known for its expertise in the design and manufacture of high-precision equipment, primarily for the aerospace and defence industries, sells its Environmental Control Systems (ECS) and mechanical equipment, both hydraulics and pneumatics.
The SME can offer its ECS for cabin to manufactures of small aircrafts, ECS for avionics to military aircraft manufacturers, but also mechanical equipment for large or small, military or civil aircrafts, helicopters and drones. - Full Description
-
The Italian SME is a 100-year-old company based in the Milan region.
The company designs and manufactures Environmental Control Systems (ECS) and mechanical equipment, including hydraulics and pneumatics for aerospace and defense applications and civilian aircrafts.
Its ECS are based on vapor cycle and include ECS for avionics (military aircrafts) and cabin ECS for small civilian planes, such as:
- cabin ECS for small civil aircraft P180 Evo
- cooler package for Eurofighter Typhoon DASS system
- ECS for F16 ventral POD Camera and Electronic Compartments
- ECS for JAS-39 Gripen ventral POD
- liquid cold plate Eurofighter nose radar
As for hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, the SME designs and produces valves, actuators, pressure switches and pumps used in helicopters, UAVs, civilian and military planes, including:
- pressure switches used throughout hydraulic systems of Tornado and Eurofighter
- hydraulic components shipset for UAV, including actuator, shut-off valves, pressure switches
- landing gear control lever and valve for AW101 helicopter
- passengers’ main entry door actuation system for G280 civil airplane
- in-flight refuelling solenoid piloted manifold valve for Eurofighter
- pneumatic actuator for rudder bias of civilian airplanes
- tail shut-off valve for large transport helicopter
The company is already successful in both domestic and foreign markets and has a long experience in major aerospace programs. It works with military programs including Eurofighter, F-16, Gripen, Tornado, UAVs, and AW101 as well as civil programs like Piaggio P180 and Gulfstream G280.
The SME is seeking new partners worldwide to expand its business, with the goal of establishing long-term business relationships.
Potential partners can be:
- ECS for cabins - manufacturers of small aircrafts (e.g. business jets, helicopters, tourist aircraft);
- ECS for avionics- military aircrafts manufacturers (including consortia of international governments);
- mechanical equipment – manufacturers of civil and military airplanes, UAVs, helicopters;
- TIER 1 and TIER 2 companies in need for components for their systems. - Advantages and Innovations
-
Products are characterized by their high precision, reliability, and compliance with stringent requirements and aerospace qualifications.
Furthermore, the SME stands out for:
- customer specification-based supported by CAD (Autodesk Inventor® e Catia®) and CAE (Ansys® CFD and structural analyses);
- certifications - UNI EN 9100:2018; Italian MoD - AER-Q-2110 (AQAP 2110), AQAP 2210; EASA - Part 21 – Subpart G, Part 145 (In progress, due 2024); NADCAP - CND - Penetrant Liquids, Magnetic Particles; ISO 14001 certification for environmental management;
- testing expertise in the domains of fuel, vapor cycle systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and aerodynamics, wind tunnel with continuous flow, hydraulic test rigs using Skydrol and MIL-H fluids, aerodynamic test rigs, inspection of leaks using He spectrometric detection, non-destructive examinations (liquid penetrant and magnetic particle inspection);
- processes for definition, monitoring, measuring, analysing, and improving are implemented to guarantee the efficacy and conformance of every operation performed during the phases of design, development, production, maintenance, overhaul, and repair.
This methodical approach ensures that each of FIMAC's products is reliable and complies with customer needs. It also works in tandem with the application of appropriate management tools and processes (such as Problem Solving approaches, FMECA, FRACAS, etc.). - Stage of Development
