General information
- Short Summary
- An Italian SME specializing in advanced informatics and software development is seeking an EU partner for a research/development project to create a simulation software for high-density human infrastructures such as airports, train stations, hospitals, and shopping malls to apply for the Eureka Innowwide call. The partner sought should have contacts with Asian and North American partners and focus on testing, consortium management, and potential future commercialization.
- Full Description
-
The Italian SME with extensive experience in advanced informatics is developing innovative simulation software designed for high-density human infrastructures. The company excels in creating cutting-edge software solutions for complex challenges across various sectors.
The project aims to develop simulation software to enhance operational efficiency, safety, and user experience in environments such as airports, train stations, hospitals, and shopping malls.
Key objectives include:
• Optimization of Service Usage and Safety
◦ Using simulation of human flow to optimize service access and efficiency.
◦ Ensuring social distancing, as emphasized by the recent pandemic.
◦ Improving emergency management with advanced planning of escape routes and assembly points.
• Sustainability Through Resource Allocation
◦ Predicting space use allows for better planning of required resources (lighting, energy, water, air exchange, heating, cooling, waste collection and management, and identification of needs from a circular economy perspective) per zone, improving the overall sustainability of the project.
• Prediction and Optimization of Space Utilization
◦ The simulator will predict expected space utilization levels, optimizing both service layout and commercial space arrangement.
• Integration with Real-Time Systems
◦ The software will interface with computer vision systems to monitor real-time human flow.
◦ Expert systems or machine learning will help prevent critical situations.
◦ Incorporating environmental monitoring systems or real-time data input will enhance predictive models, improving simulator estimates over time.
• User-Friendly for Non-Experts
◦ Although simulation is typically a field for experts, the targeted applications follow well-defined patterns.
◦ The simulator will be designed to be intuitive and usable by personnel without specific skills in simulation.
The SME seeks an EU partner with contacts with Asian or North American realities who can contribute to field testing, manage the consortium, and support the potential future commercialization of the product.
The ideal partners should:
• Field Testing Expertise
◦ Have access to high-density human infrastructures for conducting real-world tests.
◦ Provide valuable feedback on the software's performance, usability, and impact.
• Consortium Management Experience, for EU calls
◦ Play a key role in managing and coordinating the consortium.
◦ Ensure smooth collaboration among various stakeholders, including academic institutions, infrastructure operators, and technology companies.
• Product Commercialization
◦ Collaborate on the strategy for product commercialization post-development and testing.
◦ Assist in promoting the product at the European and international levels. - Advantages and Innovations
