General information

Short Summary
Laboratory of optical biosensors and functional nanomaterials was established in 2020. Head of the laboratory Dr. Roman Viter. Laboratory consists of 3 Senior researchers, 2 PhD students, 3 engineers, 2 MSc students. Laboratory has experience of preparation and implementation of national projects, M-Era net, H20202 and HE.
Full Description
Laboratory of Optical biosensors and functional nanomaterials offers collaboration in the following areas:
-Fabrication and characterization of nanomaterials with optical properties (absorbance, reflectance and photoluminescence)
-Optical chemical sensors (microfluidics), biosensors and gas sensors
-Electrospinning for photocatalysis
-Drug-polymer formulation by electrospinning and 3D printing technology for drug delivery and encapsulation
-Multispectral optical characterization of biosamples (tissue), UV-curable polymers and composite materials (lignin-bitumen, lignin-plastic, etc.)
-Plastic recycling, fabrication of biodegradable composites by 3D printing

Facilities:
Optical measurements lab, (Photoluminescence (LED, Laser, UV-Vis) 350-900 nm, Low temperature measurements of photoluminescence and transmittance (77-400 K) , Absorbance/Transmittance/Diffuse reflectance for powders, thin layers, solutions 200-1000 nm, FTIR, optical chemical and optical gas testing chambers)
Chemistry lab (Hydrothermal synthesis of metal oxides, Metal-oxide ligand synthesis,
High temperature furance (1100 C, Ar, N2), Plasma treatment (N2, O2, Ar), Electrospinning (single and core-shell)
3D printing lab (FDM and LCD printers, single screw extruder)
Glassware lab (all manipulations with glass and quartz)
Mechanical workshop (prototyping)
