- Short Summary
- A construction company from northern Germany would like to digitalise their roof products using sensors. These sensors should be able to measure temperature, pressure and humidity over a period of 40 years and (if possible) without external energy supply. The sensors should be applied approx. 20cm under the roof surface and generate data about the roofs condition. The company sees the cooperation as a strategic project. Various types of collaboration are possible.

The company is looking for a technological solution for reliable and long-term data transmission from sensors that are permanently embedded in an organic or inorganic insulating material at a depth of around 20cm below the surface.
Once the sensors are in place and the roof is closed watertight, the sensors will be very difficult to access. For this reason, they should either
a) work with a battery or
b) be supplied with external power (e.g. solar) in a way that the watertightness of the roof is not endangered.
Due to the companies high quality products, the lifetime of the sensor (and its energy supply) should be not shorter then 40 years.
The aim is to develop an energy self-sufficient and maintenance-free solution that enables voltage-independent data transmission over many years. The company is looking for innovative approaches in: - energy generation
