General information

Short Summary
Company can implement Sustainability risks assessment of any digital technology-based product, technology or project. Integrated Acceptance and Sustainability Assessment Model (IASAM) method, which is based on the joint use of system dynamics simulation and Bayesian networks, provides both project authors and investors with proactive and interactive opportunities for quantitative assessment of even hidden sustainability risks of any product, technology or project based on digital technologies.
Full Description
The Latvian SME Sociotechnical Systems Engineering Group research object are digital technologies relationships between engineering and society. The staff has a strong background in software design, simulation technologies, AR/VR applications, AI use and sustainability risks assessment. The associates have long-term research project experience since 1995. The most important ones can be noted FP5 IST BALTPORTS-IT (2000-2003) – multimodal logistics and supply chain modelling, FP7 CHOReOS (2010-2013) – Future Internet conceptual modelling, FP7 FUPOL (2011-2015) – policy crafting simulation and FP7/H2020 FuturICT 2.0 (2017-2021) – digital technologies sustainability risks assessment.
The Latvian SME main research directions are:

• Application of sociotechnical systems theory in conceptual modelling of digitalization projects.
The main reason for the failure of medium and large IT projects is the dominance of technical requirements. The use of sociotechnical approach and systems thinking in design respects the critically important social and human factors. Company methods allow significantly improve the success rate.

• Sustainability risks assessment of any digital technology-based product, technology or project.
Company method, which is based on the joint use of system dynamics simulation and Bayesian networks, provides both project authors and investors with proactive and interactive opportunities for quantitative assessment of hidden sustainability risks.

• Using agent-based simulation and artificial intelligence to predict cybersecurity risks.
By describing the battlefield as a set of agents, it is possible to simulate various scenarios of the development of threat risks. Company method allows timely assessment of the consequences of the decisions made.

Sustainability risks assessment could be a valuable investment for any project.
Advantages and Innovations
With Integrated Acceptance and Sustainability Assessment Model (IASAM) method it is possible to:
• Carry out an interactive self-assessment of sustainability at any stage of the project;
• Quantitatively assess the prospects and possibilities of project even before it starts;
• Determine the most important factors affecting the sustainability of the project;
• Identify potential bottlenecks in project development in a timely manner;
• Make a correction of the sustainability forecast, respecting the stochastic and hidden effects of digital technologies;
• To compare several and different development scenarios.
