General information

Short Summary
Maltese University spin-off company that has been developing innovative solutions related to thermoelectric cooling modules (TECs) is seeking licensees to license its intellectual property via technology licensing agreements.
Full Description
The Maltese company has developed cooling for compact systems with drastically lower power consumption overcoming the current issues of cooling methods that are too large, inefficient, or imprecise for portable products. The solutions developed provide up to 30% better efficiency than normal stacked modules making thermoelectric adoption feasible in scenarios once considered impractical.

The startup's capabilities cover:
- TEC controllers and custom electronics for single-stage and multistage TECs.
- Mechanical design and electronics hardware and software development.
- Patented IP in the optimisation and control of multistage TECs, capable of achieving lower power consumptions and lower temperatures ideal for portable or deep cooling applications.
The startup would like to work with partners and collaborators, distributors and end-clients to:
- Offer thermoelectric electronic controllers for single stage or multistage TECs for precision temperature control.
- Companies as distributors or suppliers for engineering solutions.
- Custom thermoelectric cooling integration solutions for manufacturing, life sciences, photonics or telecommunications applications.
- The technology can be translated into small devices such as high speed cameras, low light microscopes, radio receivers as well as vaccine transport systems. So it can be applied to various industries.

The startup's first controller is at TRL8 ready for demonstration and deployment.

The startup is interested in discussing direct licensing opportunities of the technology related to the optimisation of multistage TECs and the implementation of novel isolation techniques of multistage TECs for printed circuit boards.
Advantages and Innovations
- Thermoelectric modules are solid-state and silent method of achieving precise temperature control and thermal management for sensitive components or portable products.
- Controllers offered are flexible, reliable and capable of supporting a multitude of thermoelectric module arrangements. Such controllers are suitable for value-added manufacturing, testing and quality and R&D environments.
- Optimisation solution for multistage TECs enables reduced energy requirements improving or creating new opportunities for portable products.
- Novel isolation techniques for improved thermal isolation of multistage TECs
- End-to-end expertise for electronics, firmware and mechanical design.
