General information

Short Summary
Start-up from the Basque Country (north of Spain) involved in physical rehabilitation of musculoskeletal pathologies and the development of new digital technologies has redefined physical therapy. It is guided by a virtual assistant powered by artificial intelligence who carries out diagnoses according to the patient’s symptoms and prescribes the correct exercises.
The Basque company is looking for partners who are interested in this new type of business model for physical therapy. The type
Full Description
At present, physiotherapy has become essential in our way of life. Musculoskeletal injuries increase due to the practice of sports, sedentary living and rapid ageing of the population. In this context and bearing in mind the Covid pandemic, the company developed a physical therapy practice that is 100% digital.
The objective was to make this type of service more accessible to any patient who might require it without having to leave their home.
Thanks to the AI and big data technologies, the company has developed a virtual assistant called “Aurya” who can react to the patient’s symptomatology and outline a customized set of exercises accordingly.

On the other hand, innovative technology is responsible for monitoring the patient through a camera so that exercises can be corrected in real time while at home.

The algorithm for symptom evaluation the SME has created is particularly noteworthy as it is based upon Bayesian networks which results in a much more exact evaluation as opposed to traditional rules-based algorithms.

Given the excellent results of this service, the company has already closed agreements with insurance companies and big corporates at a domestic level.

Now that this platform for users in the field of physical therapy is successfully running, the Basque company is facing the challenge of generating another platform aimed at professionals of the health sector.

At present, the company is ready to offer this platform developed by their own technology to potential e-health users in the field of physical therapy under a commercial agreement with technical assistance.
