General information

Short Summary
The organization from Lithuania is looking for partners for the EU4H-2024-PJ-02-3 call. The target partners are health science institutions, pediatric oncology clinics, bioenergetics institutions, and public organizations.
Full Description
The organization operates in the fields of health promotion, physical activity, and wellness. The primary priorities include providing quality educational services, fostering a holistic approach, and encouraging an active and conscious lifestyle. The organization collaborates actively with municipalities, public health bureaus, and non-governmental organizations. A team of professional specialists, including physiotherapists, health experts, psychotherapists, and coaches, implements various international projects (INTERREG, ALMA programs), conducts training and practical sessions, and organizes wellness events and camps aimed at achieving inner harmony.

By applying innovative non-traditional methods in practical training for children and adults (such as mindful breathing, sand therapy, and mindfulness development), individuals are helped to find balance in their thoughts and emotions, even in challenging life situations. New projects aim to explore alternative ways to strengthen human health, providing psychological and social support by integrating specialists from various health fields, including physiotherapists, neuropsychologists, bioenergetics experts, nutrition specialists, and coaches.

Hearing the diagnosis of cancer (oncology) in a child is a tremendous shock for any family. The first days and weeks are particularly difficult as life turns upside down, leading to an emotional crisis. During this time, emotional and psychological support is crucial for the family until they come to terms with the news and can start fighting the disease. There is no other way; the alternative is death. The family's support for the child is vital. Additionally, it often happens that another child in the family gets completely forgotten due to the focus on the sick child. Creating balance in a family facing such a tragedy is very challenging.

The project's target clients are families who receive such a diagnosis: children and family members, and the medical professionals working with the sick children.

The main objective of this action is to create a service in pediatric oncology clinics that will support children and their families during cancer treatment by providing the necessary psychological and social support to infants, children, adolescents, and young adults from 0 months to 24 years old. The action could support the identification of the different capabilities available across Europe and build the foundation to regularly identify gaps and needs to be addressed at national and regional levels across Europe. This process will focus on the quality of life and well-being of children, adolescents, and young adults, their families, siblings, and relatives, including mental, psychosocial, and nutritional support, together with clinical oncology, surgery, and radiology specialties, including their nursing services.
Advantages and Innovations
The organization has been operating since 2017 and has accumulated diverse project experience. One of the completed national projects, funded by the Ministry of Education's Sports Support Fund, was titled “Discover the Joy of Movement.” This project not only integrated physical activity but also promoted healthy eating habits, helped individuals find harmony in their thoughts and emotions, and fostered harmonious relationships with the environment. The target group included children aged 8-14 and their guardians.

Currently, projects are being implemented under the 2021-2027 INTERREG program, specifically “Empowering NGOs & public institutions in helping children overcome migration traumas using creativity and favors of nature” (#C007KidsLikeUs). The lead applicant is Poznan University (Poland), with partners from Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Norway, and Lithuania. The Lithuanian partner is the organization in question.

The essence of the project is to assist children facing anxiety, depression, poor mental health, and life challenges. Public institutions, municipalities, universities, and non-governmental organizations have joined forces to create a physically and psychologically safe environment for children dealing with trauma, anxiety, and physical or mental challenges. The organization is developing a virtual reality therapeutic story for children called “Constellation of Victories” and is conducting various activities to help children calm down. The project's duration is from 2023 to 2025.

Another project under the ALMA program, ESF-SI-2022-ALMA-01-0033, is “Improving the Competencies of Young People in Lithuania, Portugal, and Sweden.” The goal of this project is to help young people find motivation in life and successfully integrate into the labor market and social life. This project also runs from 2023 to 2025.
