-
An italian research centre is preparing an application in the framework of the European 'COST Action' call (https://www.cost.eu/cost-actions/what-are-cost-actions/). This call aims to support and fund the consolidation and the networking activities of a scientific community gathered around a severe disease, very well known to all of us: visceral myopathy (myogenic CIPO).
The main topics of the Action are the following:
a) uniformity in nomenclature, b) VCSM patient registries, c) Biobank facilities, d) International network collaborating to advance in the field, e) special working groups for diagnosis, pathogenic mechanisms and treatment/management, f) disease models and endpoints, g) focus on the overlap with other types of CIPO requiring more in depth diagnostic and genetic testing.
The proposing network comprises clinicians, researchers, PAO representatives, companies from the international scene, and it will be a very exciting opportunity for every participant to join a hub of experts.
The Action will promote training activities, schools, workshops, meetings, the drafting of new grants, the development of scientific and technological advancements, hopefully looking into patents as well as publications. - Sustainable Development Goals
- Goal 10: Reduced Inequality
- Goal 17: Partnerships to achieve the Goal
- Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being
- IPR description
- The research centre is looking for biotech companies working on lab-on-chip technologies, technical solutions regarding stomas, bioinformatics companies working on simulations in genetic engineering, statistics and companies interested in solutions to smooth muscle diseases, peristalsis dysfunctions, biomechanics applications.
