General information

Short Summary
Italian startup, expert in EdTech sector, has developed a B2B product for teaching and learning mathematics through a videogame-based methodology. The startup aims to collaborate with a Eurostars partner to develop a new product for the B2C market for learning STEM subjects through a game-based assisted and guided learning. A simple prototype of the educative part and of the overall game is currently available. The partner should be able to develop the artistic and graphics part of the product
Full Description
The main goal of the project is to make the teaching of mathematics much more engaging for children aged 7-13. The product aims to strengthen individual users' math skills through an immersing video game experience and a strong narrative component, providing an appropriate level of challenge. The start-up plan is to adapt the Math contents to European school curricula and to provide an intelligent system to adapt the puzzle difficulties to the individual player's capacities.

As a sandbox, multi-platform and multi-language game, the product aspires not only to support children with learning difficulties but also to help fill gender divides in STEM subjects by including elements of personalization and gender inclusion. End users will be able to learn STEM subjects in a more accessible manner through an interactive tool that stimulates their cognitive abilities and, thanks to the product concept, proves useful for both teachers and parents.

The involvement of students will be powered by interacting characters that may serve as storyteller as well as math mentors. Every game level will provide Math contents perfectly integrated with the educative programs of all European countries. A system of feedback driven by artificial intelligence will tune the in-game playing and math difficulties, providing a perfect user experience and learning environment also for pupils with special educational needs.
Advantages and Innovations
The proposal represents a qualitative leap in the EdTech market and in the way mathematics is learned by children, as it integrates a set of technologies designed to provide engaging feedback and a concrete solution to individual learning problems.

Several advantages and innovations are integrated with this project.

1. The storytelling is integrated with puzzle games. This key point represents a novelty in the Edutech market. The strong narrative component immerses players in an engaging story mixed with an Innovative puzzle game mechanic that gives the player the possibility to practice, to understand and to learn mathematics with simplicity.

2. Personalized Learning Experience: The game adapts to the individual user's level and country programs, providing challenges that match their abilities and helping them progress at their own pace. This personalized approach ensures that students can develop their math skills effectively, regardless of their starting level.

3. Innovative game mechanics. The math aspects are not separated by the narration but completely integrated. The understanding of game mechanics is often a way to understand math concepts.

4. Collaboration with universities: The already existing collaborations with Universities ensures that educational aspects are thoroughly analyzed and improved, providing a solid foundation for the game's educational content and a trusting relationship for parents.

5. Availability of Testing audience: The product in B2B form is available for the schools and this gives the start-up the possibility to optimize the games component in all the phases of the project.
