General information

Short Summary
Based in the Azores (Portugal), Eyecon Group develops Habtrail — a predictive platform using satellite and AI data to forecast harmful algal blooms (HABs) and shellfish harvesting interdictions. The service benefits aquaculture producers, seafood distributors, and coastal authorities. We seek commercial and development partners in Spain, France, Italy, USA, Chile, Japan, and South Korea.
Full Description
Eyecon Group is a Portuguese technology company founded in 2017, based in the Azores, with expertise in environmental monitoring using remote sensing, AI, and satellite data. We specialize in predictive models for natural hazards and marine conditions.
We are currently expanding Habtrail, our flagship product for the aquaculture sector. Habtrail is a web-based platform that provides early warnings of harmful algal blooms (HABs), predicting shellfish harvesting interdictions due to toxicity and water quality issues. The service integrates satellite-derived environmental indicators such as chlorophyll-a, sea surface temperature, salinity, pollution levels, tide information, and sediment data.
Our company is experienced in multi-stakeholder projects and has received funding from the European Space Agency (ESA). We collaborate with public authorities, aquaculture producers, and research institutions to refine and expand our predictive capabilities.
We are looking for distributors, aquaculture associations, seafood companies, and authorities in coastal monitoring to establish commercial and development partnerships. We are especially interested in contacts in Spain, France, Italy, USA, and Chile, where HABs are a major challenge to seafood safety and economic resilience.
Advantages and Innovations
Habtrail uses advanced AI models trained on satellite data to predict shellfish toxicity and harmful algal bloom risk with over 85% accuracy, offering forecasts up to three days in advance. This helps reduce harvest losses, improve food safety, and optimize operations. It’s the first platform integrating daily forecasts for chlorophyll, salinity, SST, pollution, and tides in a user-friendly dashboard. The system is scalable to other coastal regions globally.
