General information
- Short Summary
- A Ukrainian technology university offers the technology for recycling construction wastes at the selection point. This method recycles construction waste at collection sites using a mobile plant that crushes and screens several tons of fine material per hour. It stands out for its compact design, needing simple foundations and metal structures. The university seeks investors to introduce the technology and partners for joint testing and certification.
- Full Description
-
Buildings destroyed by war or planned for demolition contain thousands of tons of construction waste, which can be secondary resources for the production of commodity products and secondary raw materials. Most of the waste is sent to landfills, which hurts the environment, leading to significant greenhouse gas and hydrogen sulfide emissions and soil contamination with harmful chemical compounds.
The Ukrainian technology university offers the technology for recycling construction wastes at selection points which could be implemented using a mobile crushing and screening plant with a capacity of several tons of fine-grained products per hour. A distinctive feature is the horizontal layout of the innovative small-sized equipment, which does not require complicated structural elements - just a simple basement and metal structures, and ensures ease of installation, dismantling, and maintenance. The technology involves preliminary analysis and waste sorting.
The mobile processing plant can be effectively used in mining, construction, metallurgical, chemical, and other industries. It is designed to recycle wastes (various types of sheet or profile glass, drywall, tiles, and ceramic products, building bricks, plaster, and other similar materials, and slag from metallurgical and other industries) at places where they are formed.
The mobile plant performs medium and fine crushing of high-strength materials, as well as grinding to a size of less than 0.2 mm, with the separation of the required fined product. The processed material is used as a commodity product (glass granules for design, gypsum for agriculture, etc.) or as a raw material for production (glass for melting, gypsum for drywall, etc.).
To implement the technology, the university is looking for investments through an investment agreement, as well as partners for testing and certification of the technology, and dissemination of the technology through a commercial agreement with technical assistance and/or a research and development cooperation agreement. - Advantages and Innovations
-
- Transportation costs are significantly reduced.
- Reduces the load on the landfill.
- Reduces greenhouse gas emissions, improves the environment, and preserves natural resources.
- Small sizes of the production site.
- Obtaining commodity products and secondary raw materials at the site of construction waste formation.
- Use of secondary raw materials in the newly created construction complex.
- Simple and quick reinstallation at a new production site. - Stage of Development
- Lab tested
- Sustainable Development Goals
- Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
Partner Sought
- Expected Role of a Partner
-
The university is looking for partners and investors interested in joint work on testing and international certification of the technology and a final technical solution for the construction and implementation of a "mobile technological transport unit" that can process construction wastes directly on the site of their selection, and further joint commercial use of certified technology and the mobile plant at the EU markets. The university is looking for:
- Investors who help to start the technology implementation via an investment agreement;
- Partners (SMEs, universities, R&D institutions) interested in the technology and the mobile plant testing and certification via a research and development cooperation agreement or a commercial agreement with technical assistance. - Type and Size of Partner
