A Swiss NGO has created an e-commerce platform to encourage manufacturers to create new products using climate-neutral and eco-friendly materials, offering consumers products made from sustainable, social-responsible materials for more mindful, ethical consumer behaviour.
The Swiss organisation is looking for eco-responsibly extracted and recycled metals, specifically gold, silver, copper, and brass, as well as crystals (including precious, semi-precious, and non-precious varieties). Materials should be sourced and processed in Europe, with a strong emphasis on environmental sustainability and ethical practices.
The metals and crystals will be used to replace conventional, often unsustainably sourced materials currently employed in the manufacturing of jewellery, luxury goods as rings, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets, or for decorative elements in handbags, watches, and other accessories.
The goal is to transform a segment of the precious metals and crystals economy towards a model that prioritizes ecological responsibility and sustainability. The Swiss NGO aims not only to offer materials whose origin and processing are environmentally friendly, but also to ensure that the products made by jewellers, luxury goods manufacturers and other artisans and distributed on its platform use these materials, so that they meet the quality standards demanded by consumers.
