Full Description
Historic winery in the western province of Sicily is looking for tour operators and travel agencies interested in the winery for wine tourism itineraries.
The owners of the winery have always personally managed the activities in the vineyard and in the cellar, and even today, in the seventh generation, they are still involved in the company's management on a daily basis. A long family history of respect, care, love and dedication, of values handed down from father to son, which today make it on of the greatest Sicilian wine families.
The vineyards are located in the westernmost part of Sicily, characterised by a great variety of microclimates. The area has the highest area under vine in Italy, as it is considered the most suitable vineyard on the island. Here, in fact, the intense light, the dry climate, the cool soils, the southerly winds and the strong temperature range create the ideal conditions for the production of quality wines.
The company proposes several experience itineraries dedicated to the visit of the historical cellar.
A sensory journey through more than a thousand of vats, barrels and barrique with different capacities, shape and size where Marsala wine is aged. In the heart of the historical cellars there are several rooms to visit. Every single room is a big jewel case which preserves treasures and traditions. Thus, that’s how different periods that marked the history of the most famous wine in the world come to light, starting from its discovery thanks to smart English businessmen passing through the history of the company, among the first to start the production of Marsala in 1880. During the visit guests could learn all the secrets of the productive process of this precious wine and they have the great chance to taste it spilled by the barrel. While them cross the history along the rows of oak barrels that create this temple of wine, timeless emotions and feelings.
They propose several guided tours with tasting sessions, aperitifs at sunset, in Marsala and in Pantelleria Island where they have vineyards as well, in order to offer a complete experience to guests.
Advantages and Innovations
The winery has a long and rich history dating back to 1880, and has been passed down through seven generations of the same family. This deep-rooted connection to the land and the traditions of winemaking is evident in every bottle of wine they produce.
