General information

Short Summary
A Spanish R&D institution is preparing a proposal for a new counter-battery or sapper for land operations that collaborates with air-platforms as drones. Both platforms will be made by advanced composite materials and achieve various functionalities as low observability or ballistic protection. The project targets the EDF-2025 call and aims to integrate thermoplastic and thermoset technologies in lightweight, resilient systems. Partners are sought for research cooperation to develop the project.
Full Description
This R&D project focuses on developing innovative composite-based solutions to enhance the land combat missions in collaboration with air support. It is framed within the European Defence Fund (EDF) call EDF-2025-DA-GROUND-LCC-STEP and aligns with current efforts to boost EU defence autonomy.
The project explores advanced thermoset and thermoplastic composites to improve the performance, durability, and weight-efficiency of ground and air-based defence systems. It combines materials science, with next-generation engineering, short-series manufacturing, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) validation; and communications to obtain a collaborative environment.
The R&D institution offers lab services, composite expertise, and prototyping capacity. It seeks partners with know-how in electronics, systems integration, defence, or AI-driven targeting technologies. We need also a potential coordinator.
