General information
- Short Summary
- This small family company from Greece specialises in the manufacturing of fur plates in a huge variety of colours and designs. It offers to supply its products to manufacturers in order to be converted into finished clothing products and accessories.
- Full Description
-
This family enterprise from Greece has been specialising in the manufacture of fur plates since 1980. The company’s products are handmade, using a unique traditional method that can be found only in the fur manufacturing community of Kastoria. This ensures that each product is tailor-made and thus customised to the specific needs of every client so it is totally unique.
Sustainability and reduced environmental impact are of vital importance to the company, so the method of mink fur manufacturing used by the company incorporates the recovery and reuse of waste products. This adds a major circular economy component to the company’s activity, bringing additional environmental, financial and societal value to the table. In addition, it means that the company can produce at relatively low cost and thus can offer its products at competitive prices.
The company has built up an impressive range of fur plates in a variety of modern trend-setting colours and patterns, to suit all tastes.
The Greek company seeks clothes manufactirers that are willing to purchase its products (under supplier agreements). But it is also looking for partners that are interested in developing a similar line of production using its fur manufacturing expertise (under outsourcing agreements). - Advantages and Innovations
-
The main advantage with regards to other fur products (and other textiles) that are already available on the market is the innovative approach that the Greek company uses raw materials that would otherwise go to waste. Using a traditional technique that is only applied in the city of Kastoria, cutoffs from mink furs get converted into high-quality coats and fur plates that can then be used by clothing manufacturers to be converted into coats, bags, accessories and anything else the client might need.
With a view to upholding the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals on gender equality, the company has full female representation in its leadership. - Stage of Development

Partner Sought
- Expected Role of a Partner
-
The Greek client is looking for partners that are already developing clothes and/or accessories (e.g bags) from fur, so that he can provide them the raw materials for their line of production.
Alternatively, the company is interested in finding partners that might be active in the clothing industry in general (or thinking of entering) and willing to develop a line of production of fur clothes and accessories but that might not have the required expertise. Therefore the Greek client would be willing to explore the possibility of co-operation with foreign partners and to provide all the relevant know-how and technical experience. - Type and Size of Partner
