General information
- Short Summary
- A Swedish company specialised in biodegradable and compostable bioplastics for diverse sectors is looking to expand to new international markets preferably in the UK and Turkey. It seeks partners under commercial or outsourcing agreements.
- Full Description
-
A company based in Sweden, established in 2015, is a recognised producer of biodegradable and compostable bioplastic materials. With deep expertise rooted in long-standing experience within the polymer and packaging industries, it has developed proprietary bioplastic compounds used across multiple production techniques, such as film blowing, injection moulding, and sheet extrusion.
Its core offering is a certified food-contact-approved bioplastic material (in both EU and US markets), which is marketed under an anonymised brand name. This material is used across sectors including packaging, horticulture, medical, toys, and hospitality. Key ingredients include calcium carbonate, sugar cane, vegetable oils, and esters, resulting in a product that is renewable, biodegradable, compostable, and has extremely low CO₂ impact when incinerated for energy recovery.
The company already has a strong market presence in the EU, North America, South America, and parts of Africa, and has secured major partnerships including cooperation with a leading multinational in Asia and the US. It is now seeking commercial expansion into new regions and is therefore looking for committed partners interested in distributing, promoting, or integrating bioplastics within their operations.
The company is specifically seeking:
Commercial agreement with distributors, importers, or agents willing to introduce and scale its bioplastic product.
Outsourcing agreement with partners seeking sustainable material solutions to replace conventional plastics in their products or processes.
The desired outcome of such partnerships is to contribute to the global scaling of sustainable bioplastic alternatives, aligned with the company's internationalisation strategy and existing production capacity. - Advantages and Innovations
-
Advantages and Innovation:
- Converts renewable natural materials into fully compostable bioplastics with no generation of microplastics.
- Enables production across several industrial methods: injection moulding, film blowing, sheet extrusion.
- Emits virtually no CO₂ when incinerated, unlike conventional plastics, supporting circular energy recovery.
- Food-contact approved for both EU and US markets, making it adaptable across sectors and geographies.
- Can be fully tailored to client-specific production needs without altering their standard equipment. - Technical Specification or Expertise Sought
- Potential partners should have experience in bio-based material distribution, plastic product manufacturing, or industrial applications that currently rely on conventional polymers. Familiarity with sustainability standards and local regulatory frameworks (especially around compostable materials) is preferred.
