General information

Short Summary
Swiss SME offering software development expertise for tailored, complex software solutions across various domains. They empower businesses to streamline development, ensuring scalability and efficiency. Looking for R&D and commercial agreements with technical assistance in the domains of art and culture, health, mobility and education to apply to Horizon Europe projects. The SME has experience with European projects such as Horizon Europe.
Full Description
The Swiss SME helps businesses implement complex software solutions. With a strong track record of collaborating across diverse industries, the SME combines technical expertise with a deep understanding of business requirements to guide the development of software. Their mission is to empower organizations with innovative solutions that address their challenges and goals, by defining and understanding their software requirements and then develop their software.

The SME liaises with partners from different sectors, bridging business goals and technical implementation with:

• Comprehensive Needs Assessment: Through workshops with stakeholders, data analysis, and workflow mapping, the SME identifies functional and technical requirements, paving the way for a custom software solution.

• Strategic Roadmap Development: The SME can create a tailored development plan, addressing timelines, resource allocation, and scalability to ensure the software aligns with long-term goals.

• Interdisciplinary Expertise: By leveraging expertise across domains such as healthcare, mobility, human resources, education, and more, the SME ensures a nuanced understanding of sector-specific challenges.

• In-house development: The SME completes their offering with a skilled development team able to deliver the final product.

The SME's unique value is turning organizational needs into actionable development strategies, minimizing inefficiencies common in off-the-shelf software. Our adaptable frameworks accommodate emerging technologies for long-term adaptability.

The SME solution is applicable across multiple fields, including, but not limited to:

• Mobility: to design and implement systems for public transport operators to support autonomous vehicle operations.

• Education: to design and implement student information systems taking into account teachers, students, their parents, and administrative staff to collaborate in the school day to day.

• Human resources: to design and implement HR tools such as Applicant Tracking Software, or to help collaborators periodically evaluate their skills, or even how to show the benefits a company offers to them.

Flexible solutions adaptable to any industry or need, ensuring alignment with your goals and tangible results, especially for businesses undergoing digital transformation, innovating, or optimizing legacy systems.

Concretely, for the European projects AVENUE (https://h2020-avenue.eu/) and ULTIMO (https://ultimo-he.eu/) the SME collaborated with multiple partners in the mobility domain. The primary goal of both projects is to facilitate autonomous public transportation. The SME's core responsibility is to develop the required software components that will aid public transport operators in overseeing passengers. This ensures that the quality of service and inclusivity remain equivalent to that provided by vehicles with drivers. The Pulse Dashboard is the primary software component. It receives alerts from vehicles, such as requests for help, information, and detection of critical situations (passenger falls, aggressions, etc.). (see images annex)

The dashboard connects to data sources to obtain vehicle and trip information. It uses this data to determine if alerts should be raised, based on public transport operator policies.

The SME offers client-centric, end-to-end support, from consultation to post-implementation. Their expert team in software engineering, business analysis, software development, DevOps, and project management ensures a multidisciplinary approach to delivering quality, measurable results.

The SME is looking for R&D and commercial agreements with technical assistance in the above-mentioned domains to apply together for a Horizon Europe project.

This partnership provides expertise and proven solutions to maximize the potential of your software and ensure success in the digital landscape.
Advantages and Innovations
The SME delivers bespoke software solutions that are precise, efficient, and cost-effective, aligning with specific business objectives. Unlike off-the-shelf software or software editors, they specialize in creating custom software solutions that are tailored to the specific needs of the end user and the functionalities of their particular domain.

● Software co-creation: The SME learns your domain's specifics while mitigating the risk of low adoption by ensuring all relevant business units are integrated into the design process. This collaborative approach fosters teamwork and ensures the final solution is tailored to end-user needs. Co-creation contrasts with the traditional top-down approach, where management makes all the decisions, often resulting in a final product that is not well suited to daily needs.

● Scalability-driven architecture design: The SME’s tailored solutions prioritize flexibility, allowing the system to evolve with organizational growth in your specific domain. The approach is a best fit with a consortium experimenting with different solutions. In contrast, rigid architecture design impedes scalability, leading to systems that cannot adapt and require extensive overhauls to accommodate change.

● Reduction of hypothetical early optimizations: The SME focuses on building solutions and rapidly test them to align with actual user needs rather than making speculative enhancements too early in development. In any domain, premature optimization often leads to unnecessary complexity and expenses, as developers invest time and resources into enhancements that may not be required in the final product.

● In-house development: After collecting requirements and engineering the architecture, the SME develops the software in house. Different from a consulting company that requires you to outsource software development, the SME developers’ team takes over guaranteeing the best quality and best proximity to the consortium independently from the domain.
